T Partake in a sensational visit of a family estate and a traditional olive mill in Archanes. The owners will lead you to their production area and introduce you to extra virgin olive oil, from harvest to different ways to produce this traditional olive oil. Then you will have a guide tour in a new and dynamic boutique winery. Visit the facilities, from production area to bottling area, cellars. Petras was a true gourmand and wine connoisseur who provided a running commentary on his experiences as a chef, love of all things Cretan and supplied extra details about olive oil and wine that we hadn’t learned in our other tasting experiences. We were with one other couple, so a relaxed, friendly pace. It’s a true joy to have your guide so passionate about his adopted home and willing to share, making for a special experience.

Exceptional tour with an amazingly knowledgeable guide! We were able to taste and learn about Cretan wines and olive oils in a relaxed, personalized way. Lunch at Bakaliko along with wine pairings made for a delicious memorable day. Highly recommend this tour!

It was a great, fully packed day. Our tour guide picked us up at the hotel, was super knowledgeable and accommodating. We tried delicious olive oil, local wine and had a lovely lunch in a small town.

Relaxed tour with knowledgeable guide. Guide used past culinary experiences from around the world to expand upon and explain the unique flavors of Cretan oil and wine. The staff at each venue are accommodating to the tour group(s). Would recommend to anyone wanting an authentic and unique experience on Crete.

We had a wonderful day and were able to learn so much about the local olive oil and wine production. The places we visited were very small local productions and during the tastings we had an idyllic view. We were very happy with the olive oils and wines chosen, so we took some of them home with us.
Our guide Pierre was very friendly and knowledgeable, so we got a lot of additional information and just had a fun day altogether. Because our group was small (6 people + Pierre), we also got to know each other a bit more, which made it an even better experience. For us, the trip was worth every cent and we made wonderful memories.

Without exaggeration, his tour has become a true highlight of our stay on the island.
We have first visited the Koronekes organic olive oil farm. It was an eye-opening experience to realize what makes a high-quality olive oil production and to get insight into the everyday choices the organic farmer faces. It was truly exciting to learn about the various stages of the process turning the little olive into this precious liquid - olive oil. As we then moved to the testing phase, we learned how to taste the oil, how to store and to preserve it. Now we are going to be much more knowledgable when selecting oil for daily consumption, checking not only for labels like “extra virgin”, but also for example, giving clear preference to the “cold press” (and not more generic “extracted“) oils. What a great experience indeed!
Afterwards we proceeded to the organic winery, where we visited the vineyards, the production premises and the storage facility. The location is exquisite, on top of the hill, with the fantastic views. Likewise, we finished the visit with the tasting.
We concluded the tour in the village of Archanes with an ample lunch consisting of multiple courses accompanied by more local wine tasting.
Needless to say, in all locations one could buy the products tasted.
A special thanks to our tour guide! Pierre is affable, quick-witted person, whose insights on olive oil, wine, food and life on the island in general really spiced up the whole journey.

We had a great experience on our tour! We went to a small olive oil producer and learned tons about olive oil (although the resident cat stole the show!). We then went to a local vineyard and sampled Cretan wines, with our guide customizing our sampling to suite our tastes. Then to a local restaurant where the sommelier was very knowledgeable and and served us excellent local food!

Fantastic wine tour with knowledgeable personable guide Pavlos/Pierre, he guided us ,did not lecture us and let us enjoy and learn about many Cretan wines and olive oils in addition to taking us to a nice village lunch and wine pairing.
