I took my 20-year-old daughter to Joe’s establishment, Baekusaeng Makgeolli.
Joe was so informative about the history and process of making Makgeolli and Soju. Until then, we had no idea Soju came in varieties other than the classic green bottle, which we learned is considered diluted Soju. Nor had I ever heard of or tasted Makgeolli. Joe was so patient with our questions and graciously refilled the snack bowls. I highly recommend taking this tour.

This was a fantastic experience. Joe gave us a complete history of Soju and Makgeolli. The tastings were diverse and there is something for everyone. A great couple of hours. Highly recommended

This was so fun! Joe is a great host and very knowledgeable about his craft. His Makgeolli was delicious and we learned a lot about how it's made and the history of the drink. He also taught us a lot about soju and the many varieties it's available in. He did not hold back on the drinks and gave us more than we knew what to do with. He also provided a ton of snacks and food for us to munch on while he was sharing his expertise. 10/10 would do it again and recommend to anyone.

My boyfriend and I attended Joe's class on Traditional Soju and Makgeolli Tasting and it was absolutely amazing! We were very impressed with his knowledge and loved his hospitality. We had great conversations and really enjoyed the flavors he introduced us to. We would highly recommend this class for anyone traveling to Seoul and are excited to try making makgeolli! The experience was so comfortable it felt like being at someone's house. I also didn't even know that I was such a fan of makgeolli until after this class. Thank you for everything, Joe! You are an amazing teacher. Wishing you all the best and hope to see you again in the future!

Fun and informative! Joe is a gifted brewmaster, and an excellent teacher. We had such a great time, and Joe really knows his stuff! Would highly recommend the class. We were just 2 and it was great fun, but a bigger group would have a great time as well. It seems like you're lost at first but trust in the detailed directions provided by Joe.

Absolutely amazing experience. Exceeded my expectations. It is so worth it to learn more about traditional Korean alcohol. It's not stuff you can try at regular restaurants and it's a very unique experience. Very much recommend.
