1. Chania Town
We'll start by picking you up from your hotel in a comfortable, premium vehicle and taking you (approx. 2h driving from Heraklion area) to explore during 2h the city's stunning old town, filled with Venetian and Ottoman-era architecture and winding, narrow streets lined with cafes, shops, and boutiques. Our knowledgeable local guide will lead you through the historic streets, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the city's rich cultural heritage, including its ancient Minoan and Venetian roots. You'll see some of Chania's most famous landmarks, such as the 16th-century Venetian lighthouse, the magnificent Cathedral of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, and the lively Venetian harbor, where you can watch fishermen bring in their catch of the day.
2. Lake Kournas
After exploring the charming old town of Chania, we will take a short 45-minute drive to the breathtaking Kournas Lake, which is the only freshwater lake on the island of Crete. This picturesque lake is surrounded by lush greenery, making it a true gem of the region. During the visit, you can enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake, rent a catamaran, or take a dip in the crystal-clear waters. In addition, if you wish, you can savor some delicious local cuisine at a family-run tavern. Our knowledgeable guide will recommend the best dishes and help you navigate the menu like a local. After a satisfying lunch, the guide will drive you to another beautiful city, Rethymnon.
3. Rethymnon Old Town
After short driving to Rethymno (approx. 30 min from Kournas Lake), you will have the opportunity to explore the old town, which is home to charming narrow streets, picturesque buildings, and stunning architecture. Your guide will take you to visit the Venetian harbor, one of the most beautiful spots in Rethymno, where you can enjoy the sea view and take memorable photos. Your guide will share the history of Rethymno with you, including the city's long and diverse cultural heritage, and point out notable landmarks and buildings as you explore. Additionally, you'll have time to stroll through the bustling markets, where you can purchase souvenirs, local products, and handicrafts. After a leisurely stroll through Rethymno, we'll make our way back to your hotel (approx. 1h ride to Heraklion area). Our comfortable vehicle will ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride back, allowing you to reflect on the highlights of the day.

This is a unique and very special experience. Helen picked us up from our hotel in the morning and expertly guided us around Heraklion. She then walked with us through the beautiful little streets of Rethymno, took us for a wonderful lunch by Lake Kourna, and concluded our tour by strolling through the enchanting streets of Chania. Helen is extremely pleasant, very calm, and makes you feel like you’re touring with a friend.

We were so happy with this tour. They were very flexible to meet our needs, which included a different drop-off point than the pickup location and adding a stop while removing another stop. It was wonderful. We especially loved Kournas Lake.

The tour was delightful and our guide was knowledgeable and charming. Katherina made our day just perfect!! We loved all the knowledge that she shared with us of ancient people of Crete: their culture, their myths, their history! The tavern she took us for dinner in Charnia had great Greek food. We recommend this tour, but even better if you are able to have her as your guide.

Cherry is fantastic, very organized, good communications prior to the trip. Driver was extremely prompt, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. I would do any tour with this group anytime.

10000/10 experience on this tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable of the Island of Crete, the history etc. He made the tour so enjoyable, fun and informative all at once. He acted as our personal photographer for the day as well haha! Cannot recommend this company and their tour guides more.

Helena was punctual, patient, vehicle was spacious and clean. Extremely knowledgeable w local history from Manoan to current time. Appreciated her Venetian architecture details and her enthusiasm for archeological sites. Left with a desire to learn more about Cretan history. Highly recommend her.

We took the full day tour as a family with our kids. Our tour guide, Helen, was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of Cretan history and culture. We had a great time exploring the cities of Chania and Rethymno. We stopped for a beautiful lunch spot at Lake Kournas. And we made a stop at an Olive oil factory and tasted the freshest greek extra virgin olive oil! The vehicle was very comfortable. It was good to go in November due to lower crowds overall. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in Cretan history, architecture and culture.

Eleni was a very knowledgeable guide and provided us with a lot of fascinating historical information about the Venetian and Ottoman architecture in Chania and Rethymno. In Chania, she also took us to see some of the excavations of Minoan sites that take the city's history back to the second millennium BC. It was an eye-opening excursion showing us parts of Crete we had not expected to see. The stop at Korunas Lake was also interesting and lunch at Oneiro tavern was delicious, although the serving staff were not very friendly.
