An unforgettable excursion: ascent by cable car and Jeep up to 2850m (tickets not included, €45 per person to be purchased at the meeting point). The walking route begins from here, a fascinating stop will be on some extinct craters, eruptive vents and lava fractures. We will continue up to the Barbagallo craters at 3000 meters. From here you can observe the majestic Summit Craters and admire recent lava flows (01-12-2023), until you reach the inside of a lava flow channel. We will visit the effusive vent of the 2002 eruption and from here we will descend along the sandy slopes to Montagnola from where we will observe the Valle del Bove, a large volcano-tectonic depression. Breathtaking panorama that gives visitors a feeling of arcane power that few other places in the world can convey. The return on foot by cable car allows you to take a last look at this enchanting lunar landscape, for approximately 4 hours of walking in total

Start with cable car, then a bus, not really a 4 x 4 but our guide, Jean Baptista was excellent, enough information and clear. A lot of walking, a bit of scrabbling, solid ground, loose ground like walking on sand. Astounding views, worth the money. Great picnic stop. NOTE this is not up to the top of the crater to see the lava, which is a more challenging walk.

This is an excursion that you cannot afford to miss. Mount Etna is simply massive and a complete one off. We found the whole experience of organising and getting to the start point very straightforward and the company Gruppo who provided the tour were very very good and made sure we were safe at all times and our guide Luciano was just brilliant. He gave us a running commentary and historical background all day and also allowed plenty of stops for rest and water. He spoke multiple languages fluently and made sure that everybody was understood what he was saying. The views are breathtaking and the experience is very memorable. We all returned to Basecamp filthy but smiling and very humbled by this massive rumbling landmass. If you can afford to do Mount Etna in this way, then you should. I cannot recommend this enough.

16.06.2024 escursione con funivia, successivamente piccolo trasferimento con fuoristrada ed infine escursione/trekking di medio/bassa difficoltà.
Peppe Kona ci ha guidato con perizia e passione attraverso un paesaggio fantastico e potente.
Tornerò per salire fino ai 3330, visto che quel giorno le condizioni meteo non lo consentivano.

Super randonnée aux cratères du sommet, au travers des champs de lave dont les dernières dates de décembre 2023.
Nous avons eu la chance de voir une petite éruption.

Andare sull'Etna è un'esperienza incredibile. Purtroppo io e la mia famiglia non abbiamo potuto viverla fino in fondo per una mancanza di comunicazione con le addette alla segreteria che non sono state trasparenti e non hanno saputo indirizzarci su una escursione più adatta per noi.
Inoltre, avendo rinunciato a completare il percorso perché ci siamo sentiti male, abbiamo dovuto pagare per il ritorno. Ci siamo sentiti beffati e abbandonati a noi stessi.
Vi ricordo che voi avete il dovere di informare adeguatamente chi si accosta ad un'esperienza del genere e, nel caso in cui qualcosa andasse storto, non far gravare altre spese al turista che già a strapagato la vostra agenzia.
Per questo esistono le assicurazioni!!!

I want to give a huge thanks to Andrea, who helped my wife when she turned her ankle halfway through the trip. He guided her through some difficult terrain and helped her get home with a bad sprain, always behaving with compassion and empathy.
I also want to say this is not a very easy hike. You will go on some narrow paths around craters and scoot down some steep hills of loose sediment. It's do-able for a healthy adult in good cardiac shape, but don't underestimate it! It's not as though you're walking on established paths as you would in a national park. This is not a criticism, just a warning. The experience was educational and memorable, truly a once in a lifetime thing!

Even if the mist hid the view from the top of the reachable crater of Etna, the cable car + off-road + trekking tour is an experience that must be done at least once in a lifetime.
The organization was perfect, and the professionalism and competence of the guides (and their friendliness) made the day perfect.
Be careful, it is not a walk: you are in the high mountains, and you need to be equipped accordingly (luckily the ticket includes part of the equipment: boots, socks, poles, helmet and windbreaker).
Highly recommended.
