Griffintown is one of Montreal’s most historic neighborhoods – and one of its most haunted. The area has witnessed everything from dying Irish refugees during the Famine of 1847 to the Industrial Revolution to Montreal’s worst air disaster. Today, condominium towers are sprouting up in the Griff, but new residents are quickly learning that the district was once a rowdy shantytown – and it’s also ghost-ridden!
The Haunted Griffintown Ghost Walk visits mysterious ruins, a polluted canal, former burial grounds and creepy old buildings that are said to be haunted.
Led by a professional actor and storyteller, this ghost tour is sure to please ghost hunters, history buffs and Hallowe’en lovers with its creepy tales of the spirits and paranormal activity infesting and haunting Griffintown.

Compellingly told stories by a charming guide. I learned a lot about local history through the various local legends. Overall a really pleasant experience!

My wife and I were in Montreal for a quick weekend a couple of days ago and we took this tour and we had a great time! I forgot our guide's name, unfortunately, but he was great, very informative and funny. What a fantastic way to see and experience a great part of the city you might otherwise miss. It was a cold rainy night, but it was a lot of fun and very informative and interesting! Definitely recommend it and I will probably come back with my son and friends!

Wewent with our family of 5 (teen/young adults) and found it to be a fantastic way to learn about the history of the Griffintown neighborhood and have a spooky-fun evening out. Jason was phenomenal -- very knowledgeable, and a great balance of theatrical and friendly. We all had a great evening.

My sister and I decided on doing a private tour in Griffintown after hearing about this on the radio. What a great idea it was. We met up with Kara in front of Rockaberry’s and from the time she introduced herself I knew it was going to be a fun tour. The tour was very informative and we had a great time. I took my English class and we had a fantastic time! The guide was informative, theatrical, friendly, and in character! The stories were well-researched and fascinating! The whole vibe was extremely spooky and fun! It was a wonderful time for us all!

I organized this ghost walk as a private tour for my 33rd birthday. As a group of locals we found it an entertaining way to learn about the history of a specific piece of our modern international city. Max was an excellent guide and our whole group liked him.

I gave this tour to my fiance for his birthday but it was really a gift to the both of us.
It was such a great experience to learn about our haunted Montreal. Jason our guide was so knowledgeable and very enthusiastic. We were particularly touched by the past lives of our Irish community.
So get on your walking shoes and a warm coat and get entertained by the ghosts of Griffintown.. .

It was an interesting evening, getting to know the gory history of Griffintown, the tour guide seamlessly combined history with theatrics, to the point that I couldn't tell when he was joking. I was really hoping the guide would take us into Old Port, near the canal where it definitely feels haunted. All in all, we had a good time and we look forward to being a part of the other tours as well.
