They're Egypt's three main pyramids, built in the 4th Dynasty (circa 2550 B.C). The pyramids of Ancient Egypt were built as tombs for kings (and queens), and it was an exclusive honor to have such a tomb. However, this tradition only applied in the Old and Middle Kingdoms. Today there are more than 93 pyramids in Egypt; the most famous ones are those at Giza. Now let's go for a little tour around the site of the pyramids and try to explore the magnificence of the area:
2. Great Pyramid of Cholula
The famous Great Pyramid of Khufu is by far the biggest, tallest, and most intact pyramid in Egypt. After its construction, it became one of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”, and today, it is the only one of them remaining. For a period of 4300 years, the pyramid was also the tallest building on earth, until the French built the Eiffel Tower in 1889. Khufu’s Pyramid is built entirely of limestone and is considered an architectural masterpiece. It contains around 1,300,000 blocks ranging in weight from 2.5 tons to 15 tons. Its square base covers 13 acres, and its sides measure about 230m (755ft). Its four sides face the four cardinal points precisely and it has an angle of 52 degrees
3. Great Sphinx
he Great Sphinx, or as the ancients knew it, “Shesep Ankh” or “the living image”, has to be one of the most recognizable constructions in history. Think of the Sphinx and you automatically think of Egypt and the Giza Plateau. Sculpted from soft sandstone, many believe that it would have disappeared long ago had it not been buried in the sand for so many long periods in its lifetime. The body is 60m (200ft) long and 20m (65ft) tall. Its face is 4m (13ft) wide with eyes measuring 2m (6ft) high. It faces the rising sun and was revered so much by the ancients, that they built a temple in front of it.

The Open Air Museum at Memphis is one of the truly "must see" sites in Egypt! The trip from Cairo is only 45 minutes, the museum is only 20 Km to the south, and the entrance fee is an affordable then back to hotel

Had ann excellent experience. Getting a private guide and driver is the way to go you have plenty of flexibility and it’s more comfortable.

I highly recommend this tour. We saw everything we wanted to and Bisho, our guide, was excellent in his knowledge regarding the places we went to. Both him driver were very accommodating and friendly. The car was exceptionally clean an well air conditioned. I will definitely use this tour company again. Loved it.

A whole day of excitement as soon as you leave your hotel door! Ehab was a great guide that knew exactly how to make the most of an intense day. The road to Alexandria from Cairo is a beautiful drive through desert landscapes, and every site in Alexandria is breathtaking. So many historical and cultural phases in one single city. Highly recommended tour, especially with Ehab and Teto!

Our English-speaking driver Youssef was punctual. His vehicle was clean and the A/C worked well. He was patient and didn't rush us. Enroute from Cairo to Alexandria, he imparted information about the landmarks we were viewing.

In Alexandria, our tour guide was Karam. He was very knowledgeable and was able to intelligently answer all my questions, which leads me to believe he was not just parroting a script.

We visited the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the Library of Alexandria, and the Citadel of Qaitbay. All were impressive sights with interesting histories. After our ~3-hour tour, we had lunch at the Fish Market, a seaside restaurant, not a fish market. We enjoyed the view of the Bay of Alexandria and the Citadel of Qaitbay through the large windows surrounding the restaurant. We also appreciated the A/C in the height of summer in Egypt.

All told, I highly recommend this tour. Our driver and guide did a great job. It was a pleasant day trip to Alexandria.

My day trip to Alexandria with my guide Bisho was super nice. I recommend.
To see Alexandria was a good plus of my visit in Egypt. It makes you see something different than the Cairo and the pyramids. I could cross the country and see some nice landscape. Besides the roads are high quality.
My guide Bisho was a great man during all the trip. His english was perfect for me (and he speaks Japanese too !!).
I loved it, and I recommend.

I just came back from a day trip to Alexandria, and I am not desapointed at all. Everything was fine and perfect. The guide, the city, the trip..... This one day trip is just the cherry on the cake of my visit in Egypt.

First the good (but do read to the end): We visited all the sites as per the itinerary and the guide was very polite and knowledgeable. We were not rushed; they were on time; and WhatsApp communication was great. This is why I gave 4 stars, but…
We paid for a private tour (which this was supposed to be), but the night before we were told that another couple would like to join us if we agreed to. They have told that same thing to the other couple! We did agree to it, so we cannot blame the company for that, but also, they did take advantage of us and made double the profit for the same work. We were not offered any compensation for this; and on top of that we were scammed with the seafood lunch - 20USD/person cash only - you det 3 small, uncleaned shrimp; 3 rings fried calamary; and a small whole fish + rice. Extremely overpriced “tourist menu” they call it! Go with the restaurant a la cart menu!
Advise: If it’s your first time in Egypt: 1st lower your expectations 50% and 2nd be aware that everyone is trying to make as much money off you as possible, at all times. Egyptians are very charming and appear to have your best interest at heart, but do not be fooled! Once you are aware of the above, you can enjoy your experiences and have a fantastic vacation.

The ride was nice and uneventful. The tour guide knew his facts and everyone was extremely friendly. Have already recommended it to a few people. Would do it again!

Alexandria is definitely worth a visit. The views along the Mediterranean were beautiful. Our guide Ehab was very knowledgeable and never made us feel rushed getting tons of photos. Our driver Islam was quiet but friendly
