The Real Alcázar of Seville, together with the Archive of the Indies and the Seville Cathedral, has been declared a World Heritage Site in 1987. It is an impressive place full of history that has been the setting for movies and the famous series "Game of Thrones». The palace is a mixture of architectural styles, such as Mudejar, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.
The origin of the Real Alcázar dates back to the High Middle Ages, although some areas typical of Islamic art can still be seen. It was in the 14th century when King Pedro ordered the construction of a Mudejar-style palace attached to the Gothic palace of Alfonso X, which became the Royal House. Throughout the centuries, it has been the residence of the Spanish Royal Family in Seville and is currently reserved for the exclusive use of royalty, except for tourist visits.

The tour guide was funny and informative however the tour was quite brisk although it was emphasized many times that we could stay on afterwards.
Be aware that it can be very busy when meeting and checking in with the tour people at the beginning..but they completed it as quickly as they could!

During my trip to Sevilla, I had the chance to visit the Alcazar palace in the company of a guide. I recommend this activity 100%.
Our guide was passionate about her work and took the time to give us a lot of anecdotes about the garden too. This is definitely an activity to do on your next trip to Sevilla.
