Our tour leader, Page, was so knowledgeable about the history of Charleston. Not only did she introduce us to some great local dishes, but she was able to make the past come alive for us! She was able to answer all our questions and she was extremely enthusiastic about the city and the sights.

She crab soup was outstanding! Enjoyed hearing history from our tour guide Paige. My only recommendation is to allow a choice for the dessert - I would have much preferred ice cream to the cake like dessert that was selected.

Page was great; very knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoyed learning about the history more than I enjoyed the food.
Not that the food was bad. Most of it was excellent.
The she-crab soup and the perloo were remarkable. The bbq slider was also great. The dessert was mediocre.

Although we could have walked around ourselves and eaten at the same restaurants we visited on our own, we wouldn’t have known what to get, nor the stories behind everything along the way.
It wasn’t too long a tour, but be prepared for a lot of standing and walking, potentially (at least partially) in the hot mid-day sun.
We enjoyed Paige’s lifetime of knowledge of her hometown and how she brought us into her world with how she shared her own family’s history there as well.

We toured with Page who was very knowledgeable. She provided history on the food as well as other historical data about Charleston. Page was well spoken and friendly. We sampled She Crab Soup, Chicken Bog/Perlot, Collard Greens, BBQ and cornbread, and Cannoli cake. All were very delicious. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

The food options were really good. She crab soup, a rice dish, pulled pork and dessert. However, there was very limited history. I can’t say it was worth the price.

We had stops at different restaurants with food that helped tell the story of Charlston. Along with that we saw other places that we would not have stopped at had we been on our own. The food was interesting including dishes that were very local and new to us. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the city and her passion for sharing the culture and how Charlston evolved made it a very interesting couple of hours. Highly recommend.
