1. Cappadocia
The Cappadocia region is the place where nature and history are most beautifully integrated in the world. While geographical events were creating the Fairy Chimneys, people also carved houses and churches into these fairy chimneys, decorated them with frescoes, and carried the traces of thousands of years old civilizations to the present day.
2. Kaymakli Underground City
Kaymakli Underground City is the biggest and deepest underground settlement in the Cappadocia region. Located in the Kaymaki Village, Kaymakli Underground City is also one most popular places to see in Cappadocia. Kaymakli Underground City has 8 levels underground (only 4 are open) carved from the soft volcanic stone that are connected with each other by narrow tunnels. Visitors may visit stalls, stables, stores, refectories, churches, wineries, kitchens and the other sections. Going for 40 meters under the ground, Kaymakli Underground City has a capacity of 5000 people. It is very exciting to imagine that how people lived here. A visit to Kaymakli Underground City is a must on your Cappadocia holidays.
3. Zelve Open Air Museum
Zelve open air museum Zelve open-air museum, which once was the home of one of the largest communities in the region, is an amazing abandoned cave village. Zelve is situated about 7 km from Göreme. Christians and Muslims lived together here in perfect harmony until 1924. Then Christians had to leave the country because of the exchange of minorities between Greece and Turkey, and Muslims in their turn were forced to leave the village in the 50s, when life became too dangerous because of the risk collapsing as a result of erosion. They set up a modern village, a little further on, to which they gave the name Yeni Zelve (New Zelve).
4. Avanos
Avanos Pottery Demonstration Pottery made with wheels, dating back to the Hittites in Avanos, is still continued by the local people with the wise and experience of the past, passing from ancestor to grandfather, grandfather to father, father to son. The soft and oily clay soils taken from the Avanos Mountains and Kızılırmak beds are sifted, first turning into mud, then into dough in the form of a spinning top, and then into pottery in the hands of skilled craftsmen. Thus begins the story of a pottery. When you see the pottery of Avanos, the pottery workshop of Cappadocia, you will understand that they actually have artistic souls in their genes. Maybe you will not only understand, but you will go with the attitude of doing it myself, you will want to try it too. After this experiment, you will understand that they are artists
5. Uchisar
Bottom of the Uchisar Castle We will not climb the castle we stop bottom of the castle and see it from outside . Uchisar Castle is the only place where Erciyes and Hasan Mountain can be seen together. The place where the creator of Mount Erciyes, that is, the Cappadocia Region, can be seen best is Uçhisar Castle. Since the Roman period, many rooms, houses, shelters, warehouses, cisterns, tombs, and cellars have been carved into it, and it has been an important defense point against Arab raids. Large stone cannonballs used for defense against attackers were kept on it. Uchisar Castle, which was used both as a watchtower and a defense castle, maintained its importance during the Seljuk and Principalities periods.
6. Fairy Chimneys
Pasabaglar(Monks Valley) mushroom fairychimney Pasabag Valley, also known as “Monks Valley” is one of the most popular fairy chimneys areas of Cappadocia, situated between Avanos and Goreme. Pasabag Valley is also one most popular places to see in Cappadocia that travelers may experience mushroom shaped fairy chimneys with multiple stems and caps. The formations that once used as a seclusion place for the Monks, are now a very attractive tourist zone in Cappadocia. The valley, which was used as a retreat by the priests and monks during its period, includes many rock-cut monasteries, churches, chapels and settlements, as well as tunnels and mills.
7. Avanos
Carpet Workshop The historical and natural wealth of Cappadocia has been kneaded and integrated with natural materials by the people of the region throughout the ages and turned into art. The heritage of this natural and cultural asset has an important place in the pursuits that are the livelihood of the people of Cappadocia. Carpet (rug) weaving is one of the handicrafts that not only keeps the cultural heritage alive, but also brings an economic return. We will visit one of the best carpet workshop in Cappadocia region and see an amazing carpet in there
8. Goreme
Göreme Panoroma Goreme Panoroma is the best place to see the Göreme town from the top and also if the weather is ok we can see the Erciyes mountain from there .

The day tour was amazing. The best part of the tour is the itinerary itself which adds the underground city with the red tour line . Even though it involves bot if walking, easy to do with kids since it's not so hectic as the green or blue tours. Hats off to our guide Ozlem, who was very informative and full of energy.

Ozzie is lovely, friendly, and so knowledgeable about all the sites we visited. She even was able to accommodate our carpet weaving request on the fly. The underground city was phenomenal and a "can't miss" stop on the tour. The bus was new with USB charging ports at each seat.

At times it felt rushed to get through each stop and we were not able to fully enjoy the stops in the afternoon (Partly because the weather was unpredictable and we really didn't want to get sopping wet (although Ozzie was prepared and had umbrellas at the ready for all of us)).

Perfect tour! All the stops are interesting and the tour has the best itinerary in my opinion. They were also very willing to add a quick unscheduled stop. Özlem is really good, the best guide found in Türkiye. He explained many things to us and answered all our questions. Absolutely worth doing

We plan initially to do the tour by our own but we glad that we decided later on to take the tour with Ozlem. She was very knowledgeable and gave us great details/history of each location we visited. Ozlem & the driver were very professional and flexible to accommodate our asks. It was amazing to learn the history of Cappadocia region. This tour is a combination of Red tour & Kaymakli Underground City which is not offering by regular tour operators. I would recommend this tour if you want to see the major landmarks in Cappadocia in a day.
