We had a wonderful time. The mountain, the people, the food, the wine were all so special.

However, we suggest that the tour would be much more enjoyable for people if we were given more detailed instructions in writing as to where to go and what to do in each place. We did not have internet most of each day so no GPS and no instructions did not allow us to see all that we wanted to. For example, when we arrived in Mt Rigi, the instructions we had led us to believe that the hotel was at the summit of Mt Rigi. It is not. Rather than a gondola and train schedule, written instructions would be much more useful. Such as, exit the gondola and walk out onto the plaza, your hotel will be directly in front of you. Drop your luggage there and then head to the train station which is on the opposite side of the plaza to the right as you walk out of the hotel. You can take the train up or down the mountain. If you go up, you will go to the summit where you will find hiking trails, a viewing tower, a restaurant which is cafeteria style with a large deck. Here’s what we recommend…..

When you go to dinner at the hotel, the restaurant where your dinner package is included is on level 1 (not the large restaurant on the plaza) and this is also where your breakfast that is included in your package is served.

It was also not clear to us if we could go explore the other towns on the train line with our same ticket, like Wiggins for example.

The spa and mineral baths were lovely and enjoyable. There is no gym to speak of at the hotel.

The second day, same feedback….can you get off the boat and get back on without buying a new ticket? Is ghe restaurant on the boat any good? Our driver from day one told us there were lockers to store our luggage in Lucerne. He may have even told us they were in the train station. However it would be so much more helpful if we had written instructions that said get off the boat, head toward the large archways that lead you to the train station. Enter the station and go to your far left to track 15. Walk about 100 meters past a bakery and the lockers will be be on the right between you and track 15.

We also would have appreciated a list of things to see in Lucerne and directions. For example we did not find the lion monument and without GOS we just didn’t get to see it. Can you rent bikes in Lucerne? Is there a tourist office there? If so where?

Perhaps the MOST important thing is crystal clear instructions on where to meet the return bus and what to look for (a photo of the bus and the location). The driver from day one said, behind McDonalds. First question, is there only on McDonalds in Lucerne? Second, this Mc Donald’s literally had 3 fronts. There was no clear back. Third, we came in a 10 passenger van and came back on a coach bus and did not know wha we were looking for. How about, the Mc Donald’s is in the building with the Hotel Monomet. It is across the street from the train station. If you walk out the front of the train station where the arches are you will turn left, cross the street (the name of the street would be helpful) and you’ll see the hotel/McDonalds. The large coach bus will be on the street to the left of the building again, name the street. We waited over 39 minutes past departure time for people wandering all over Lucerne looking for this bus. Why not provide a map with all of thes critical items as well as attractions? There was a tiny cartoon map of Lucerne in our packet but nothing was marked on it and it had nothing discernible other than the covered bridge on it. .

Just a few hours of preparing a great visitor packet would have made this so much better. You must assume that visitors will not have internet access to look things up.

Go to Rapperswil SG (by train) and visit the house Hintergasse 29. This is a verry nice house in the historic old town. When you put a small change in the letter box at the house door, you will be lucky and you will find a lot of happines🤗
This Ist typical for a visit in this part of the okd town. The house is verry small - but it is the most beautique one! You will have a lot of fan!

I'm so glad I booked this excursion way back in February when I first knew I'd be going to Zurich on business in May. I booked it because it was near Zurich, so perfect for a weekend trip, and it had something for me (spa experience), something for my husband (mountain hiking) and something we both love (cruise), and we could explore both Mt. Rigi and Lucerne, and everything was laid out for us -- it was a no-brainer! It sounded too good to be true, and I had not heard of Viator, so I was a little leary. BUT this tour really delivered! My favorite part was staying at the Mt. Rigi Kaltbad Mineral Baths and Spa. It just so happened to be raining the Saturday we arrived, which was the perfect excuse to just stay inside and enjoy the hotel and spa experience. We spent a few hours floating around in the spa, which offers spectacular mountain views, and a variety of options of heated pools and saunas. (Massages were pretty much booked up ahead of time, so if that's important to you then book ahead.) There is an outdoor heated pool that we really enjoyed, with the crisp mountain air and views, yet the water was heated. Luxurious! After the spa, we got cleaned up and spent a couple of hours in the bar -- again, with floor to ceiling windows, just soaking up the view, which is ever-changing because you are actually high enough to be in the clouds! It was very romantic and cozy. Then we went to dinner, and the service was very friendly. I'm not a foodie, but the food was also very good. And great that it was already included in the package, as well as breakfast the next morning. We had a seat by the floor to ceiling windows for breakfast and it was just glorious. It was sunny the second day, so that's when we enjoyed Mt. Rigi. My husband got up early and hiked it up and down for exercise, and then came back and had breakfast with me, and we took the train up the mountain. We checked out of the hotel at 11am and placed our bags in the storage room. (Reviews are correct, that the luggage room is not secured, but it just seems everyone trusts everyone there, and we were not missing anything afterward.) Mt. Rigi was a lovely experience. We walked around up there for an hour or so, before taking the train back down to the hotel. The train and gondola stations are right at the hotel, so very convenient. We collected our bags and took the gondola down to the where we got the boat to Lucerne. It's about a 10 minute walk to the boat, and not so easy with luggage. (We had more luggage because this was part of a longer vacation and we were between hotels.) My husband got cranky at this point, which was the only time. The boat ride was very serene, and my husband calmed down after awhile. We checked our bags into the Lucerne train station lockers and then explored Lucerne. (Fortunately, my husband knew this service was available from previous experience.) We had a couple of hours to walk around, and then located the bus according the directions we were given. The bus was on time, and the ride was pleasant. I read some reviews that this tour was not "guided" enough -- just with directions laid out ahead of time. For us, it was perfect, as we don't like to be part of a big group tour at all times -- we just like having a package put together for us. However, for first time travelers to Europe, they might need more guidance. Anyway, we LOVED our experience. It almost felt like a honeymoon, even though we are married 17 years, and were not looking for a honeymoon experience. We definitely recommend!

This was a great excursion and one of the highlights of our trip. The pick-up point was very easy to find. We were given an envelope with the vouchers needed for the excursion & detailed instructions for our time on Mt. Rigi, the following day's journey to Lake Lucerne cruise & info regarding the pick-up point for the return trip. There were different groups on the bus - we were doing a 2-day excursion & others were doing a 1-day excursion. The ride to Mt. Rigi was narrated by our guide, Peter. Once dropped off at the aerial tram, we were on our own to enjoy & explore the Rigi Karltbad Resort, its amenities, etc. (i.e. the bus continued on its way with people taking different excursions). We went to the top of Mt. Rigi by cogwheel train. It had recently snowed & was very cloudy. We went back to the resort to check-in, then enjoyed the mineral baths & sauna. We had a pre-dinner drink in the bar & then enjoyed a lovely 4 course dinner. We set an alarm to awaken before sunrise to see if the sky was clear - there were no clouds so we went out to enjoy the sunrise over the Alps, then on to breakfast buffet in the dining room. From there we went back to the summit. We left via the 12:15 train to take the cruise on Lake Lucerne. We could have stayed at the resort & taken a later train - we enjoyed the cruise but had quite a bit of time before the 5:50 pickup. We were advised pick-up can be impacted by local traffic & the bus was 30-40 minutes. Everything but our drinks was included.

Thank you to Rolph who was our guide that joined us in Weggis where we got off
the bus and got onto the Gondola. When we got off the Gondola to get on the Cog train the elevator was broken and he performed a feat of strength carrying my suitcase up what seemed like endless flights of stairs to get to the train. He then helped us find where to checkin at the Rigi-Kaltbad hotel. He then brought us to the top of Mt Rigi and back down. We would have been lost without him. Thank you Rolph!

Definitely worth the money. Make sure you travel light as you cant check in until 15:00. Although you can leave your luggage in an unsecure room until then which isn't covered by security. I only had a back pack so i just carried this with me until check in. From arrival, at the hotel from a aerial car you get to stunning veiws from the hotel and from here upto mount Rigi Klum by cogwheel train you see phenomenal veiws. The hotel included a stunning 4 course dinner, access to the spa which is out of this world, and breakfast also included. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Fantatsic excursion and price to go with it.

So this was a special trip for us since I asked my girlfriend to marry me. During the two weeks trip to Europe, we decided to do about 4 tours. 3 from Viator and 1 direct. This one was the worst out of all. I am not kidding. We regret paying for this tour since it was basically a transport to/from. Let's start from beginning, checking in took a while since they are also selling the same tour for walk up which meant that things were rushed. When we got on the small van, we did not have room for our small duffel bag since we were doing overnight while the rest of the 6-7 passengers were doing the day only. I had to ask the driver to see if he had storage in the back or by the passenger seat foot area he was not a happy camper to help us. Once on the road, the driver/tour guide barely spoke English. He would describe the area we drove through in french for 8-10 mins and say one line in English. On top of that, there was a family who had their own translator so that person was than translating French to another language for them. Imagine hearing two different languages for 85 mins. When we got to a stop, the driver said to hold while he went got all our tickets. Came back, gave the tickets and said read the paper instructions you got at check in for rest of schedule. It will tell you what time to take what and left. This is very bad since all of us were confused as to what we had to do. When I asked about our return and where to go, he said its in the paper. You could tell he had no interest. We finally made our own way to the top and checked in to hotel. Turns out hotel dislikes guests that are part of a tour. We were giving a room with twin beds and said that's all they can extend since we didn't book directly. I was even willing to pay out of pocket for a larger bed. Furthermore, I asked about dinner and breakfast that were included in our tour and were told contact the tour company. That didn't help. Finally found someone local who just happened to be there and who explained that the hotel/restaurant will not care for your service since you are not paying them directly. Instead he helped us out with pointers and guided us on what to do. Just shocking. No worries, we tried hard to not let this bother us. But twin bed on a romantic getaway is a nightmare. When the dinner time came, they had assigned seating. Guess what, a table in the back corner of the restaurant with two sides to the walls and no view of the window/mountain. When we asked for a different table, we got the answer, you cannot change since you booked via tour. Lovely : At this point we tried our best to make the best of it. Asking for a water refill was even a nightmare because you could tell the staff were more focused with real paying customers. We called it a night and went to bed after dinner.

Next day, we got up and were excited to check out of this nightmare of a hotel. Grab a quick bite for breakfast and made our way to the top sine it was snowed in the night before. When we got to the top, the stairs were closed since it was not safe according to the crew that worked the area. No worries. Took about 3-4 photos and got ready for the boat ride to next stop. From here we were on our own since the paper just had time slot to follow and that's it. The best part of this trip was what we did on our own. We had more flexibility and options than being locked in.

The day was over so we followed the directions for pick up and headed there. We saw the bus for the company and hopped on showed our ticket for the return to the driver. While we waited for about 15 mins the bus was not leaving. I got curious and went down to task a tour guide that was there. She said they were waiting on a couple who had an overnight stay. I said thats us and showed the ticket again. She was so upset that we did not check in. I told her that we had shown this to the driver. She said driver is not ours and you should be on the other bus since thats what the paper said. I was like paper doesn't say anything except to look for a bus with your logo and pickup location. I apologized and tried to explain we were doing what we thought was correct. No apologies from the other side instead a mean look. They told the other bus we were here and we left.

At this point, we were just happy to be done with this tour and get back to our romantic trip. Never again I would be interested in booking a tour that deals with this third party booking company.

This is an amazing experience, definitely do this! Views, nature, mineral baths and city of Lucerne are 10 out of 10! Good for people of any age. You have exactly enough time for everything.

Note! In mountains is colder then in the city, I was in October, temperature was around 0 degrees celsious, so don't forget a warm cloth.

My husband and I loved this tour! It showcased the beauty of Switzerland. The hotel we stayed at was exceptional. We had the Swiss alps as the view from our room window. Everything about this tour was perfect. If you want a romantic getaway this is the perfect tour to take.
