1. Votivkirche
The *Votivkirche* is a neo-Gothic style church. It was built as a thanks to God for saving Emperor Franz Joseph from an assassination attempt in 1853. The church was designed by Heinrich von Ferstel and was completed in 1879. The church is approximately 85 meters (279 feet) long, 55 meters (180 feet) wide and 99 meters (325 feet) tall.
2. Molker Bastei
*Mölker Bastei* was a bastion of the former Vienna city fortification that existed from 1531 to 1871. Today, it is a street in the 1st district of Vienna, named after the former bastion. The Mölker Bastei was built between 1870 and 1871. The street is home to several interesting buildings, including the Pasqualati House, which was built in the neoclassical style and named after its former owner.
3. Burgtheater
The Burgtheater is the national theater of Austria. It is one of the most important theaters in the world and the most important German-language theater. The theater was opened in 1741 and has become known as "die Burg" by the Viennese population. The theater company has created a traditional style and speech typical of Burgtheater performances. The theater is located at Universitätsring.
4. Rathaus
The Vienna City Hall, also known as the Rathaus, is a magnificent building located in the Innere Stadt district of Vienna. It serves as the seat of local government of Vienna and is the head office of Vienna's municipal administration. The building was designed by Friedrich Schmidt and was erected between 1872 and 1883. The architecture of the Ringstraße is dominated by historicism, and the City Hall was built in gothic style, with a tower similar to gothic cathedrals.
5. Burggarten
Burggarten is a public park located in the center of Vienna and was once the private garden of Emperor Franz Joseph I . The park is approximately 130 meters (426 feet) long and is home to the only monument to the emperor, which was constructed in 1957 following a private initiative. Besides the grass, flowers, trees, and fountains, a big attraction of Burggarten is the statue of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which is situated close to the entrance.
6. Osterreichisches Parlament
The Austrian Parliament Building is the national legislature of the country. The building was constructed between 1874 and 1883 in the neoclassical style by architect Theophil von Hansen. The building is situated on the Ringstraße boulevard in the first district of Vienna, near the Hofburg Palace and the Palace of Justice. The building has two chambers, the National Council and the Federal Council, and is open to visitors. The building underwent major refurbishment and rebuilding work and reopened in January 2023.
7. Maria Theresien Square
A stop at the Natural History Museum and the Art History Museum. One of the best photo spots!
8. MuseumsQuartier Wien
The *MuseumsQuartier Wien* is a cultural complex that spans over 90,000 square meters (968,752 square feet) and houses around 60 cultural institutions. The complex is one of the largest districts for contemporary art and culture in the world. The MuseumsQuartier Wien is situated in the 7th district of Vienna, and is home to several museums, galleries, and cultural institutions, including the *Leopold Museum*, the *Museum of Modern Art*, and the *Kunsthalle Wien*. The complex also has several courtyards, cafes, and shops, making it a popular place to relax in Vienna's inner city .
9. Leopold Museum
The Leopold Museum is a large art museum. The museum was built in 1891 to house the extensive art collections of the imperial family ³. The museum has an impressive collection of over 8,300 works by Rudolf and Elisabeth Leopold, including major works by Gustav Klimt, Richard Gerstl, Oskar Kokoschka, and Alfred Kubin as well as works from artists of the nineteenth century such as Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller, August von Pettenkofen, Emil Jakob Schindler, and Anton Romako. The museum also has furniture and decorative works from the Jugendstil and Wiener Werkstätte movements by the likes of such artists as Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser, as well as objects from Africa, Oceania, and East Asia.
