Famous for its numerous structural problems, so much so that its architect was convicted of negligence, this bridge stands out for its glass flooring and its arched shape.

Although they were not expelled from Venice, in the 16th century the Jews were confined to the island of the Ghetto Nuovo, whose name derived from the Venetian word "gèto", which means "to melt", due to the presence of the numerous foundries that were concentrated there.

The church built in the 14th century by the Congregation of the Humiliated as a dedication to God, the Blessed Virgin and Saint Christopher, the patron saint of travelers and ferrymen. It was only after the addition of a statue of the Virgin, sculpted by Giovanni De Santi, that the church received the name by which it is known today.

The Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, known as the Frari, is located in the San Polo district and is one of the largest and most important churches in Venice. Its architecture is a classic example of the Venetian Gothic style, which stands out for the beauty and simplicity of its lines.

Born as the seat of a brotherhood of lay people dedicated to charitable works, it later became the Scuola Grande, thanks to the increased number of brothers and the merits acquired in alleviating public calamities, such as the plague epidemics, which struck Venice.

The Arsenal of Venice has always represented the fundamental basis for the naval success of the Republic. After a long period of decline in the twentieth century, most of the Arsenal was entrusted to the Municipality of Venice, with a view to cultural and architectural enhancement.

The Naval History Museum, the most important of its kind in Italy, has its headquarters in a 15th century building located in Campo San Biagio, near the Arsenal of Venice.

On the island of San Pietro in 841 the basilica was built in honor of the saint, called "di Castello" due to its belonging to the district of the same name, the easternmost of the city. It was the patriarchal cathedral of Venice until 1807.

It is home to a monastery that serves as the motherhouse of the Mekhitarist Order and has been an important Armenian cultural center since the 18th century, although its history is much older. The church of Saints Maria and Donato is one of the main Catholic places of worship on the island. The building represents an important example of lagoon Romanesque architecture and has the title of minor basilica. Probably founded in the 7th century, the church was originally dedicated to Santa Maria.

The museum, founded in 1861, represents a precious testimony to the history of Murano glass.

Burano is a picturesque island of 2,270 inhabitants spread over four different islands in the Venetian lagoon, known for its artisanal lace making and typical colorful houses.

The island is easily visited and has only about ten inhabitants who earn their living mainly through tourism.
