There is a lot that is Unique about this experience.

1. Your own private host. You host will stay with you and introduce the dishes and a lot more.

2. It is historic food, All the food on this experience, has been sourced form history books or living memories.

3. The Price, 137 euro per person is a good price for this experience. When you add up all the 10 item food menu, drink, private host, Irish language demonstration, food history, rare surprise and singing. It would be very hard to find all that in Dublin.

4 The experience is extremely interesting, this experience is the opposite to boring!

5 The food is amazing, I mean if I was not hosting this food experience, I would eat this food. This is my favourite restaurant in Dublin and it first opened its doors 30 years ago.

So I think this is why our food experience is Unique and one you should not miss out on.

See you soon!

Frank.

At first it seemed a little intimidating because of the size of the menu and the tour is actually very personalized to small groups, it was just my girlfriend and I. Frank is so personable that the worry was immediately gone. Although the menu does seem overwhelming the portions are actually perfect size, but come on an empty stomach.

The food was delicious. You get to try traditional Irish food that really isn't available in the modern cuisine and Frank ties it all in with history of the dish and personal stories attached to certain dishes. It's a history lesson and food experience all in one. I was a little apprehensive about the black pudding knowing it was blood sausage but it was so flavorful, it was actually one of my favorite items on the menu

The alcoholic drinks were also great. My favorite was the Irish coffee it was so good it put others I previously had to shame.

If you want great food tied together with history by an outstanding host then you can't miss this experience. Frank mentioned brining this to the States and if he does I'll defintely have my ticket.

If this was a competition for the food and entertainment Olympics, this would be a 10! Our host was fabulous. He really brought Irish culture and food history alive. And his singing of the Irish National Anthem was lovely and a special touch! Recommend highly!!

We have done a few “taste of” tours before; walk a lot, eat a little, along the way listening to interesting, sometimes riveting stories told by the tour guide. But this was a step above even the best of our previous experiences.

First, this was not a walking tour… this was a sit down meal of Authentic Irish Cuisine. The chef at Gallagher’s Boxty House prepared and array of tasty treasures. But. What made this exceptional was our host (tour guide) Frank.
You see Frank has a passion for spreading the magic of Irish heritage. He knows the back stories on each dish and each beverage.
He sang to the table. He told us about himself in an endearing, not overbearing way.
If you really want a special afternoon experience… Do This!

Oh, by the way, people who say “ who goes to Ireland for the food?” Has never tasted authentic Irish Cuisine!

The evening spent with Frank would be best described as a history of Ireland told through thoughtfully selected and delightfully prepared traditional Irish food. Going into it I wasn't sure how much interaction and sharing of history there would be during the meal, but Frank spent the evening with us and literally acted as our personal host.

My sister and I were interested in learning about Irish culture, old and new, and were thrilled to have found Frank. His stories of how and why the selected tastings became rooted in Ireland allowed me to grasp a depth and perspective of Irish history that I would have never experienced otherwise.

The restaurant is absolutely precious and we ate in a room downstairs (currently pictured on the homepage). It is an authentic setting but still allowed for us to hear about each preparation, and the proven and talented restaurant kitchen nailed each of Frank's selections.

If you are seeking to learn about genuine Irish history and culture through food and interaction with a warm and welcoming Irishman, then this is a must. Well done Frank!

Real Irish food that I haven't seen in other places. Gives an insight into the food culture of people in older times in Ireland as well as some important parts of Irish culture. Well laid out and is a nice room. Good for all looking for an Irish experience

This food experience was top notch! We weren't quite sure what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed it.

With Frank as our host we felt very looked after. It had a real exclusive/intimate vibe, my mates loved it!

I wouldn't usually be big on history, but we got to learn about the food and it's Irish origin, was very insightful. I'll be showing off my new knowledge next chance I get!!

When we came to Ireland l, we wanted to just not see the sights, but to immerse ourselves in the life of Ireland, the museums and local sights are awesome, yes, but to really get into the experience of an 1800-1900 Irish native, eat the food they ate, the stouts, the whiskeys, this was an amazing trip in the life of a local. Frank made everything perfect, the stories for every dish, the music, we still talk about the dinner we had, the kids who are in Their 20’s loved it as well. Highly recommend!!
