2. Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House)
located 6km to the north of the ruins of Ephesus, a church was built from the 6C AD to the top of the foundations of a house from 1C AD and it is declared by the church to be the final house where Mary spent her last days.
3. The Temple of Artemis
was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Its ancient cult dedicated to Artemis was very famous in antiquity and made Ephesus a much-visited pilgrimage place. There were a total of 127 ionic columns with a height of 19m. The temple is also considered to be the earliest bank of the ancient world.
4. The Basilica of Saint John
3 km away from the ruins of Ephesus a small church was built dedicated to John in 2C AD, Later in 6C AD it was replaced by a huge basilica built by the Emperor Justinian, The impressive ruins are still standing today.
5. Ancient City of Ephesus
An Archeological treasure, The best-preserved classical city in Eastern Mediterranean. During the 1C AD, Ephesus was the second-largest city on the planet after Rome with more than 250,000 citizens. It was in the center of the known world and played the role of a gateway between the East and the West with its giant harbor, it was also the center of trading in antiquity. It was not only a rich commercial city but also the honeymoon place of Mark Anthony and Cleopatra. An impressive city, ıt is also home to one of the Seven wonders of the ancient world, Temple of Artemis. Ephesus is also so well preserved that, walking on the ancient streets among the beautiful monuments such as the third largest library of the ancient world or the largest roman theatre on the Asia continent, gives you the feeling of a time traveler.

Ephesus was simply amazing! Riza did an awesome job of explaining history, culture, background while also being efficient and cognizant of the heat. He knew the shady spots for convening our small group.

Really enjoyable and fun trip! Every activity flowed into the next so seamlessly and everything was very relaxing! The guide was always cheerful and excited to show us around. He even grew up around the area we visited! (The guide's name was Barb)
Everything happened so fast yet so slow! Somehow we saw what felt like days worth of information in a few hours.
On our way to Ephes the guide used a map of Turkiye to show us every region of the country, giving us insight into them and their history.
The tour of Ephes felt personal in a way. The guide showed it to us as if he had lived there for years. Gave us information that we fould have never gotten from a plastic stand near some bare rocks. We also went inside the Experience Museum which was breathtaking and unexplainably beautiful.
After visiting Ephes we also visited the Temple of Artemis which, as a huge fan of Ancient Greek Mythology, was a gigantic pleasure for me even though the only thing that remained standing from the old temple was a single column.
Honestly this tour made my familys entire 7 day trip even more worth it!

We enjoyed our trip to this amazing historic site… it was a great value and we hit the major sights including the house of Mary and the ancient city of Ephesus. That was fabulous seeing the many buildings of the old city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and it was nice having a smaller group. We would highly recommend it .
