We will visit the most important buildings and places that define the History and Architecture of Downtown Mexico City, which, until the late XIXth Century, used to be the entire town.

It sounds crazy but, in the same district. we will find such different buildings of many eras and styles: mexica, barroco novohispano, neoclassicism, eclecticism/porfiriano, art nouveau, art déco/streamline and, of course, the muralist movement, that merged architecture and painting together.

We might bump into some characters like griffins, gargoyles, serpents, snakes, eagles and even mermaids who have lots of things to say about what Mexico City is.

If you look for an enriching, entertaining tour through space and time in the historic center of Mexiko City, definitely go for it. Raúl is super knowledgeable and kind - we did a lot of tours with architectural focus already, this was definitely one of the best.

Few tours truly deserve the attribute of being eye-opening, but this tour certainly does. With Raúl as your guide, you will be able to lift the veil off the chaotic and somewhat overwhelming place that is Centro Histórico and see not just the area, but the whole of CDMX from a new unique perspective. Thanks to the carefully chosen places on the tour, each of them impressive in a different way, Raúl will help you unpack the many fascinating layers of history that all meet and clash with each other in the city and particularly in Centro Histórico. What is even better, is that through his captivating and passionate storytelling, he will make you discover the connections between the city’s history, its people and its architecture - so much so that even days later, exploring the city, I was able to make observations on the cityscape and architecture I would have never been able to do without this tour. I have rarely taken a tour that was able to achieve such an impact. It thus goes without saying that I can highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to truly understand CDMX and the people it is shaped by - you won’t get a better introduction to this fascinating city than through Raúl. I am very glad I have taken this tour.

Raul is the rare combination of being extremely knowledgeable with the excellent communication skills to share that knowledge. He has an original outlook on how history impacts architecture and architecture impacts history. Step through a portal or turn a corner and this stroll transitions from the 13 hundreds to the present with architectural examples of that journey through history and culture.

Raul was the perfect host of his amazing city and an incredible tour guide. His knowledge of art, architecture, history and sociology all worked in concert when leading us through the historical district of CDMX. Popping in, out and around buildings and learning all about their history with Raul's passionate descriptions shed light on the vast and incredibly interesting history of the city. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thank you, again, Raul, for bringing us on this adventure!

Absolutely loved it!

Raoul is very knowledgeable and passionate about his town and he is great company, which is very important too. A great plus for us was that it was a small group - just the three of us, but I believe that he accepts up to 4 people.

I highly recommend doing this tour on the first day you arrive. It gives you a great perspective on Mexico City’s history and architecture. He is achieving this by visiting some very interesting building, which one would probably miss, comparing their styles and linking them to history.

The tours last about 3.5 hours, surprisingly one does not have to walk too much and Raoul suggests stops on the way to get drinks, rest of just for a call of nature. Ai would say that the tour is appropriate for all age groups.

Raoul’s english was flawless and he also speaks French and other languages.

We truly enjoyed our time with him and we can highly recommend him - book well in advance.
