Informative audio tour in a beautiful, historical palace. Not quite the Versailles Palace that some liken it to. Don't prebook lunch!! You are not given an option when you attend the restaurant. It's schnitzel or nothing if you're a meat eater. That's boiled thick slice of pork in bread crumbs with no flavouring. Vegetarians get a 'risotto', which is lashings and lashings of garlic with rice. Pudding was cold apple strudel. Don't be mistaken, it's not apple crumble or apple pie with sweet pastry and perhaps a hint of vanilla or cinnamon to marry the ingredients together. It's savoury crust rolled around apple puree with no flavouring. Unfortunately, the plates went back full. The waitress was kind enough to take the bottled water off the bill. Service was good and manager lovely.

Restaurant Joseph II offers a succulent two-course menu. A delight.
Followed by the visit to the castle with an audio guide. I was amazed to discover the residence of the House of Habsburg

The Austrian Versailles not to be missed: marquetry parquet floors, remarkable Chinese cabinet of curiosities, even the Rococo style is sometimes a little busy
The greenhouse is wonderful
The French garden is a little sad in winter and the rose garden in spring must offer a wonderful spectacle
The walk to the lookout offers an overview and a great reward after the effort to climb there
The café offers a comprehensive and affordable menu

Visit to the castle excessively expensive for what is exhibited as well as its duration.
The garden is not exceptional either.
However, the “Gloriette” is worth the detour, especially at the end of the day.

Lunch was a good Vienna meal of pork schnitzel, and apple strudel. The salad of greens and potatoes was tasty. The palace was spectacular.
