🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly Recommend for Stargazing Enthusiasts! 🌌🔭

My recent stargazing experience in Hurghada was absolutely unforgettable! Nestled in the serene desert, away from city lights, the clear night skies offered a mesmerizing canvas of stars.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by knowledgeable guides who were passionate about astronomy. They patiently explained the constellations visible that night, sharing fascinating insights into the stars above us.

The telescopes provided stunning views of celestial objects, including stars like Vega and Antaros, which appeared crystal clear through the lenses. It was truly awe-inspiring.

The atmosphere was peaceful and tranquil, perfect for soaking in the beauty of the universe. The experience was well-organized, with comfortable seating and blankets provided to enhance our enjoyment of the night sky.

I would highly recommend this stargazing trip to anyone visiting Hurghada. Whether you're a seasoned stargazer or just curious about astronomy, this experience will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the cosmos. A big thank you to the team for an exceptional evening under the stars!

We debated whether to do this trip after reading many reviews for this (and similar) tours. We were worried that we wouldn't see many stars due to light pollution. I am pleased to say that we seem to have been lucky with this operator and had a really good time.

The guides were very enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable and I would certainly recommend it overall.

Pickup was from the hotel by land cruiser....the vehicles were old and a bit battered but looked to be well maintained. Note that seating is inward facing bench type seats and it's a bit cramped if you are tall. We had 8 people in total including our group of 4 plus driver and photographer in the front....it was ok for our c.20 min transfer but I did feel a bit sorry for the couple who had come from Safaga and had been onboard for 60mins already when we boarded!

Like just about every vehicle we encountered in Egypt, this one didn't have air conditioning.....it was ok on the move but got very hot when stationary.

After a 20 mins drive we stopped and initially we weren't certain what was happening but it was explained that all vehicles in a group have to enter the desert area together and we were waiting for the others.

After a few minutes, the rest of the vehicles turned up with a total of 5 vehicles in the group and the lead guide Moussa split the group up by language spoken and explained how the rest of the trip would go

We then reboarded the vehicles and went into the desert. The drive to the "camp" took about 30 mins ...it was generally fairly benign but fast off-road driving but the experience was amplified by being in the back of the vehicle and the drivers well rehearsed "crazy driver" routine....this was good fun and he clearly knew the vehicle and the terrain well as well as being a skilled off-road driver but it may come across as being a bit "extreme" if you aren't used to it....if you get carsick this may not be for you.

On arrival at the "camp" we had tea, a camel ride, and a talk by Moussa on how the Bedouin tribe live which was interesting....we then saw a demonstration of bread making before trekking a few Hundred metres up a steepish hill to see the sunset....this is on fairly loose terrain so good footwear is a must as is some water.

After sunset we returned to the camp for dinner.....by this point we were desperate for water having drunk all the bottles we brought with us....none was offered but as soon as we asked was provided. The dinner was basic with little choice and served on polystyrene trays but was actually very tasty.
It is worth noting that the toilets at the camp are "very basic!" and it is worth being prepared for this! (If you need to go go before it gets dark ! 😉)

The stargazing consisted of seeing two stars through the telescope which tbh was a bit underwhelming but was then followed by laying down in a carpet looking up at the stars and being shown all the constellations which was great ...we saw loads of stars and even the milky way faintly.

Afterwards we retraced our steps with the driver mainly sticking to the flatter roads for a faster "less crazy" trip home.

In conclusion we really enjoyed this trip and it was great value (all this for the same price per head as a 5 mins camel ride in our hotel!). Yes we could be picky but overall it was great. Even the photographs were fairly reasonably priced at $10 for any image of your party sent by WhatsApp link (we had not really posed for many of the pictures because we had assumed they would be extortionate and later regretted we hadn't 🤣)

It's not a luxury experience by any stretch of the imagination but was a great experience.....my only real complaint is it could have done with being a little later so it got darker but we are mid summer and it was nearly 2300 before we got back to the hotel.....this would likely not be an issue if you did the trip closer to winter.

To conclude.....good fun, great staff and recommended but understand what's involved to make sure it's what you are looking for.

This was an amazing unique experience that was well worth the money! A jeep picked us up at the hotel and drove us out into the dessert (be warned this is not suitable for those with back problems or get uncomfortable in cramped spaces). The ride was an adrenaline rush driving over the dunes and our driver Butcher was so skilled, no idea how he can navigate so well out there!
The bedouin village we drove to was lovely and the people were so friendly. The food cooked was so flavourful and filling and felt very authentic.
Watching the sunset over the mountains (you will have to climb up a steep hill with unsteady ground to view it properly) was beautiful.
The stargazing itself was phenomenal and our guide Arabi was comedic, approachable and so knowledgeable. He knew so much about the stars and viewing the constellations whilst laid down on a rug out in the middle of the dessert was an experience like no other!
The photographer Ali took some amazing photos of us and also took a video of the whole experience which meant we could relive the memories of the night all over, and charged a very reasonable £10 (roughly) for approx 30 photos sent via Google drive link the following link.
I would highly recommend this as a must do excursion when visiting Hurghada. However, those with mobility issues may struggle at times and any musculoskeletal problems may also find the jeep ride uncomfortable.

A very fun and educational trip by jeep to a bedouin settlement in the desert, a 40-45 minutes drive from El Gouna and Hurghada.

We drank a herb tea, rode a camel (dromedary) learned a bit about Bedouin culture and saw a beautiful sunset in a desert mountain range. After that we had a nice meal and watched some stars and learned more about them as well.

The photographer took about 50 pictures of us alone which where sent the day after for a very reasonable price of $10 and created a nice video of the trip.

The way back was a bit tiring but it was well worth it.

Genuinely honest review -
The team was amazing! 10/10
Very informed about local culture
Tasty food provided, and had a cooler with comfort drinks all included
Sunset was gorgeous
The drivers were great
Overall good trip if you want a touristy experience of the dessert

Things to know -
Check the weather for stargazing, it was very cloudy the day we went and apparently milky way only visible in summer (late june onwards)
The stars otherwise was nothing special if youre seriously there for star gazing.

The activity did include camel riding and it was not mentioned. I personally have ethical issues with this and they were not kept well.
