We run away from the city center to idyllic landscapes of Kvaløya to enjoy: blue hours of polar night, snow, sun or snowstorms and to try snowshoeing the easy way - without climbing high mountains.
Before return we visit the local gem hidden on the shore in Ersfjord - Bryggejentene café - to relax over a cup of coffee, tea or chocolate and their famous cakes.

we go on a hike with snowshoes, it was not that hard with a beautiful view !
Mikkel was a really good guide, fun and with a lot of knowledge.
we re really passed a good time, uf we had to do this again, we re doing 100% with Mikkel, thank you for this moment!!

Our first snowshoeing family hike and we could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. Our guide, Mikkel was excellent and made it an enjoyable time. Service-oriented and attentive, he fitted us with perfectly sized snow boots, and the snowshoes and trekking poles were in good condition. Mikkel provided interesting nuggets of information regarding the local landscape, culture, wildlife, avalanches, how to make a snow cave etc. The hike itself was fun, with amazing winter scenery and an ever-changing weather that added to the experience. We savoured the authentic norwegian snacks for hiking - lefse and hot blackcurrant juice - that Mikkel brought along for us to try. A perfect way to end the hike with a delicious hot chocolate/ coffee and yummy sweet pastry at the picturesque Bryggejentene cafe! Thanks a million, Mikkel and Tromso Outdoor team, for the memorable experience!

Many, many thanks to Lukas and his boss for a wonderful experience. It was my first time snow shoeing, but it was much, much more than that. It was a cultural experience, an environmental appreciation and the genuine relaxed conversation with 2 really experienced, highly professional and genuinely personable guys.
We went for snowshoeing and came away with so much more!

Morning snow shoeing with our awesome and knowledgeable guide Thomas. We had beautiful views up there on the mountain and the top was even better. The cafe at the end was a nice way to unwind and learn more about Tromso. Highly recommend this adventure!

Our guide Tomas was lovely and very knowledgeable. The walk was enough to feel you had accomplished something and done good exercise without exhausting you for the rest of the day! Amazing views, and we even saw some reindeer. Would highly, highly recommend.

We started at 9am and the guide picked us up. I was with my 12 yrs old son, and turned out that it was only us!! We were so lucky. The guide drove us to the foot of the hill, I guess it was like 45 min or so from Tromso. (On the way, we saw some wild reindeers!) It was still very dark, so we started with our headlights on. It was our first time snowshoeing, but we got the hang of it quite well, thanks to our guide. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We climbed quite high up and the scenery was breathtaking! The guide made sure we were following and everything is ok. On the way down was a bit hard for me because of some slippery rocks, but also it was more fun to slide down over the abundant snow! Especially my son was having lots of fun going down. Everywhere you turned your head, it was like a postcard. Really stunning nature all around you.
After our snowshoeing, we were taken to this very cute cozy cafe, facing the Fijord. Looked like a hidden cafe for locals. It was still snowing, and the view from the cafe was amazing. The cafe had a little boutique downstairs full of cute plates and ornaments. I had the best cake and hot chocolate!!

I highly recommend this tour, everything was well-organised and we had great fun!!!

Were were picked up promptly and taken off in the dark to Håkøya where we were fitted with our snowshoes. Mauri, our guide, was excellent, telling us about the history of the area and pointing out things of interest as we walked. His passion and enthusiasm for the the area came through, and it was fun to be out with him. You get to see fjords and scenery away from the city, and I found it very peaceful and relaxing. We might have been lucky in that we were the only two people on the trip that morning, but I can thoroughly recommend the excursion. It ended with a trip to a delightful cafe for coffee (the best I had whilst in Tromso) and delicious carrot cake - what more could you want from a morning out! Mauri also dropped us home to our hotel afterwards, which was very kind of him.
