Private tour of Taormina, Castelmola, Isola bella for small groups

Good tour in a very nice van, alessandra was a very good tour guide and Daniele was an excellent driver both very polite and great with our 1 year old.

Would 100% book again with them

Our tour guide for Taormina a d Castelmola was excellent. But we never made it to Isola Bella which was supposed to be included in the tour. And the experience with the driver was awful! He drove very fast on these crazy streets and because of this, he had to slam on his brakes. The bench seat we were sitting in was NOT locked into place and we were sent catapulting into the row in front of us. One passenger ended up with a few minor cuts and scratches, but the driver showed no care that the passenger was hurt. I do not want to take away from the tour guide, but the whole experience left a sour taste.

If I could give 0 Stars, I would. We arrived at our prescribed meeting time and were greeted by what we thought was our guide. She was not local to the area, or country, region, even. She walked us around a church 200 yards from the port and could not provide any useful information whatsoever. She was having to use a map on her phone to navigate around the church. It took one hour to navigate the church perimeter and inside of the church. Our guide did not accompany us into the church so we could only look. Zero information. I was sending messages to the tour operator letting them know our unpleasant experience and he assured us things would get better. We sat for about an hour waiting for our van to arrive. So, we wasted 2 hours of our 8 hour window sitting 200 yards from our ship. We then went to Taoromina and things got better. Danielle was our driver and walked us through Taoromino and set up a lunch spot for us. All was good and we thought the day could still be salvaged. He then took us to Isola Bella and dropped us off 500’ past the entrance so we had to walk in the narrow street back to the stairs. The tour says entry to Isola Bella was included. It was not. Another $30 Euros. He did not accompany us and said to call him and he would be back in 20 minutes. We spent about 45 minutes there and called him to come pick us up. It took over an hour for him to make it. We were getting very close to missing our ship departure. We had a taxi ready when he finally arrived. He drove us back to the port. No AC in the rear of the van. It was easily 90 degrees in the back. We never even made it to Castelmola. By far our worst tour yet. Another reviewer mentioned it was not a tour, but more like a taxi. We paid way too much for a “private TOUR” to have this experience. Find another option is my best advice.

We were immediately met at our ship by Ghazel and taken to our car driven by Daniel. They both were very friendly and helpful. Daniel is a great driver—I’m glad I didn’t have to navigate that traffic!
Ghazel was full of great information and helped educate us on the history and significance of each place we visited. She walked with us, steering us away from tourist ripoffs and toward interesting attractions and restaurants.
Our last visit was to a shop where they treated my wife and I to gelato—it was great! We are so happy we did this tour!

We had a great tour with Ghazan and Daniele! We were me were met promptly at the pier in a very comfortable van. The drive to Taormina was scenic. We had ample time to explore the streets and photo ops at the scenic overlooks. We then headed up the mountain to Castlemola for a great view of Mount Etna and a delicious lunch. We then returned to Messina to see the Astrological Clock and the Duomo with delicious local cannoli. I would highly recommend this tour!!

We very much enjoyed our time with Angelina and Franchesco. They took us to Taormina which was beautiful. We had a lot of time to enjoy it's beauty. They explained alot about Scilily and showed us many other beautiful sites. Then we were taken to a beautiful spot for an amazing lunch with an unbelievably view and delicious cannoli. We very much enjoyed our tour and would recommend them for anyone who plans on traveling to scicily!

Our family at five had a blast. Do not skip the view from the theater in Taormina. Quite possibly the best view of our vacation. Eat at a restaurant overlooking Issola Bella looking right at the White Lotus beach.
