Departure from Playa Blanca, Puerto Calero, Puerto del
Carmen, Arrecife and Costa Teguise towards Teguise, which
used to be the island main city, where there is a very varied
popular street market which take place every Sunday. We have
free time to visit the market and the possibility of watching
performances by folk groups in the town’s central square,
surrounded by historic sites such as the church or “Palacio
Spínola”. Then, we visit the César Manrique Foundation, located in the old house of the magnificent
Lanzarote-born artist. Here, you are able to contemplate César Manrique’s work, as well as various
paintings and sculptures by different avant-garde artists. Return at about 1.30 pm.

Tour didn’t pickup from Playa Honda so had to walk to bus station at Arrecife. Tour bus didn’t arrive. Tour office told us to get taxi to Cesar Manrique Foundation and pickup the tour from there. We did this and waited 1 hour but no sign of tour bus. Phoned Viator office they were closed so got a taxi back to Playa Honda.

Trip ran well to time with informative guide
Cesar Manrique Foundation was very interesting. We had been to Teguise market before so knew what to expect, the shops and cafes within the town are well worth a look

Great half day trip - the market wasn’t all that but Teguise is a lovely town with plenty to see. The Cesar Manrique Foundation was excellent - amazing building and artist - a must see! The trip was well organised and well led by the guide. Highly recommended.

We caught the local bus for €2.50 each. Paying €33 is nonsense. The middle of the market sells a load of rubbish that you would expect to see on a Sunday market in England. Snide designer bags, tee shirts and football shirts (man united shirts were half price). There are burger vans, fish and chips and full English breakfasts served here too.
At the edges of the old town there are lots of little shops with hand crafted, artisan pieces. There are local cafes and bars here with an authentic feel.
This part is interesting and worth a look. We intended to stay for as few hours, but got bored to be honest.
I would recommend having a look, but you won’t fill a day here, maybe half a day if you have lunch.

Teguise is a charming town - one of Spain’s most beautiful in fact . The market is buzzy & has good good options too . Cesar Manrique Foundation is a MUST DO. I have never visited such an innovative and stunning place - totally woven into the landscape from where it came from - and from the man whose influence is everywhere in Lanzarote . 5 star attraction . Would have liked more time there !
There was a little problem with the organisation of this trip though. I was sent an email 2 days before confirming pick up time and pick up venue. When I got the venue- a hotel in Arrecife- I discovered I was at the wrong hotel - and also an hour too early! Only found out because I speak Spanish & called the contact no on the email. Anyone else would have been stuck . Bad organisation which luckily didn’t affect me . But please look into this as it really is not acceptable .
