Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Ride Over Cat Valley Fairy Chimneys

I have to say, I can only tell half of the story - A driver picked us up on time, and drove to the hot air balloon location as it was explained. Somehow, the last guests were picked up, the driver pulled over the car at the middle of nowhere for about 10-15 minutes without any explanation. Outside was still dark; we probably all wondered where we were and what was happening. I saw the driver and two to three other guys standing and talking beside the car. The driver came back to the car, gave us no explanation, and drove us to another location where we saw a few other cars and balloons.

Most of the guests stepped out, and again, probably all wondered when they will start to prepare those balloons. A man clapped his hand and announced that our hot air balloon tour had been canceled due to the bad weather. They drove us back.

I was aware that it could be canceled for safety reasons; I got it. What I did feel uncomfortable about was that the driver left us without explanation. Also, as I came back to my accommodation, my host told me that other companies announced that hot air balloon tours had been canceled last night.

Yes, the refund process was smooth, I have no complaints about it. But I think I will book with another company if I have a chance next time.

fairy, in fact it is the valley of cats where there is nothing to see except fields, 110€ per person whereas for 150€ sold by the hotel we would have taken a flight over Goreme which would have been exceptional. Beware of attractive prices and descriptions that do not correspond to reality

It has been a great experience, I would definitely repeat it.
I loved it.....I was afraid that it would give me vertigo or impression...none of that happened, on the contrary the climb was so smooth that I almost didn't realize it...impressive.

Doesn't take off and land at normal balloon airport. So you miss out on the sight of seeing several balloons taking off at the same time around you as well as the sights at that location.
Also felt we took off a bit late and missed the start of the sunrise.

We joined the tour with my wife. It was affordable but comfortable compared to Göreme. We flew with a small number of passengers. The pilot and ground crew were experienced. We felt safe. It was very nice to watch the sunrise from the balloon flight. I chose it because it was safe and affordable, away from balloon traffic, and I was satisfied. I advise.
