Private Walk With a Viking - Reykjavik Walking Tour

Our Reykjavik walking tour is your introduction to our country. It will help you get your bearings and make the most of your stay in Iceland. We recommend it as your first stop in Reykjavik.

Our family-friendly tour brings the history of Iceland to life with exciting stories and Icelandic mythology. We’ll visit all of the famous landmarks in the city center, such as Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavik Harbour, Hallgrímskirkja Church, Reykjavik Pond, and the Parliament building. But, we’ll also share hidden, local spots with you like a visit to an Elf home, things you’d miss if you didn’t know what to look for.

We want you to feel the unique, friendly atmosphere of our quirky little city, not just to see the most popular tourist attractions. We’ll be showing you our favorite places to eat, drink and visit.

Einar was a wonderful guide - knowledgeable, entertaining and flexible (it was pouring rain, so he adjusted accordingly and took us to a delightful little bookstore/cafe for part of the tour). Took tons of photos for us and sent us a link promptly. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a flavor of Reykjavik.

Unfortunately, our experience with the Viking: Private Tour of Reykjavik was dreadful. Given all the positive reviews, I can only assume it was our specific tour guide. He was sarcastic, humorless, extremely negative, and at times inappropriate. He concentrated on giving us his personal opinions instead of informing us on the Top Sights and Local Spots. It was a huge disappointment given that this was the only time we had to tour Reykjavik on our visit to Iceland. I feel as if we missed out on a great opportunity.

Stefan was an excellent guide, explaining the history and humour of Reykjavik. It was relaxed but informative. A small group of 5.

Our guide Einer was super knowledgeable! We booked last minute and ended up with just our family - me my wife and two girls 10 & 11. It’s a lot of history and insights into Iceland’s past and present. It was a pretty long tour but our guide was very flexible and we took a break for some hot chocolate and were able to sit and talk more about politics and history. This might not happen with a large group so we were lucky. But all in all our girls said it was great and they learned a lot. I thought they were bored but after the tour they spouted of facts and things Einer spoke about. He concluded the tour with a song/hymn (in Icelandic) a duet with himself via his phone. A nice touch that embarrassed our girls I’m a good way! We’d recommend if you really want some history and deeper insight into Icelanders ideas and way of life

We had Stefan as our guide who was very knowledgeable and kept us informed of interesting facts about the city and its viking heritage. The route is reasonably flat and the pace is suitable for all walking abilities. Very enjoyable and worth doing.

This was a very informative tour and was our guide, Einar, was the best. In addition to the facts, a very animated Einar entertained us with folklore, politics and history, answered all our questions and he even sang for us. (He has a great voice!) A great way to be introduced to Reykjavik!

Did this walking tour the day we arrived in Reykjavik. It was definitely a good choice that gave us a good feel for the city and its history. Our guide, Arnar, could not have been better. Although advertised as a small group, it ended up being just my spouse and me. Arnar took some photos along the way and emailed them to us after the tour.

Great way to see the city and learn about Iceland. Would definitely recommend as the first tour you do in Iceland if staying in Reykjavik.
