In this tour, I will be introducing Nakano: a district within Tokyo packed full of otaku subculture and also features an eccentric food and drink scene and shopping district.
There are over 1,000 restaurants and cafes in the Nakano district!
On this tour, I will take you to two or three popular Izakaya restaurants that only the locals know about!

We had an amazing time on our private tour in Nakano. As two women, we felt very comfortable exploring the local bars. The fresh seafood and sake were delicious, and trying the crane game was a fun bonus. Nakano’s less touristy vibe gave us a real taste of Japan. Highly recommend!

Sari was communicative prior to the tour starting and the meet up point was clear. We had a small group so an intimate feel, and she brought us to really nice spots and shared a little history as well.
I was pleasantly surprised as SARI sent us a questionnaire about our preferences in advance. Until now, I had only experienced conventional tours, so this was a pleasant change.
Delicious foods (my favorite was the sashimi spot), what more could you ask for? Sari was very kind.
It was such a good time!!

Really exceeded my expectations. The tour was perfect. The food was fantastic, especially the fish, which was so fresh.
Sari inquired about our food preferences via email even before we arrived in Japan, and based on that, they made restaurant reservations for us. They booked authentic local places we would have never found on our own. Before the tour, we had been to mostly touristy izakayas.
I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special and immersive experience in Nakano, Tokyo!

We had a great tour led by Sari! She took us around to several bars and helped us get familiar with the area and the culture. She was an excellent guide and we had a great conversation about the differences between Japan and America from dating to pop culture. It was a great night and we had a ton of fun! The amount of food and drinks were also perfect.
Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Tokyo and would definitely do it again next time I am in town. If you have a change to do this tour with Sari, you're in for a great and very informative night!

She was very engaging in conversation, and Dave are some great tips and visit ideas for Tokyo. I highly recommend this experience.

As you eat and drink your way through Nakano, you also get a chance to learn about traditional dishes, drinking culture, phrases and much more. You’ll also meet some really cool people. Izakaya hopping tour around Nakano to izakaya bars with a small group of 4 with an experienced Japanese guide.
We had a good amount of time at each bar, and if you want to be adventurous, ask to try whatever the locals would have! Sari was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. It is simply amazing stepping from modern Tokyo into old Tokyo by walking down a lane way - something we probably wouldn’t have done on our own as it’s not really a touristy spot and you might not find an English menu! I am still dreaming about that fresh sashimi I had in Nakano! Go early in your trip if you can, so you can go back on your own later and try a different bar in the alleys!
