With your ticket at Morro da Urca, you visit and have access to the Praça dos Bondes - which displays the two previous generations of the Sugar Loaf Cable Car and the life-size bronze sculptures of those responsible for the creation and implementation of each one - Augusto Ferreira Ramos and Christopher Leite de Castro and; Cocuruto - a place that tells the story of the Sugar Loaf Cable Car, inaugurated over 100 years ago, with exhibitions of images, projections, machinery and objects that marked the trajectory of the 1st Brazilian cable car and the oldest in operation in the world. At some times of the year, the space hosts temporary exhibitions. The park has preferential access, lift platform, adapted toilets and ramps, making tourism accessible for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.

We did the Christ redeemer climb in the morning and decided to do Sugarloaf in the evening near sunset. We purchased tickets online and took an Uber to the base. Note that you should download your tickets and expect them to be scanned 5 times! Have them ready for your party. The lines are long. Just hang in there for gorgeous views. There are restaurants, shops, and bathrooms along the way. The first ride is to the first base. Check out beautiful sunset views and crimson skies looming over the city. The next ride takes you to Sugar Loaf. Lines both ways and back, plan accordingly! The night views give you a different perspective of a shimmering city.

The place is charming, with many beautiful landscapes. Access is easy, the staff are polite and kind.
At both stops there are kiosks, bathrooms... I spent a morning there and it was very pleasant

We arrived at 10am on Sunday and didn’t have to queue to get a ticket or to get on a cable car. The views from both cable car stations are absolutely stunning, well worth it. Good facilities - toilets, cafes, souvenir shops. Saw lizards and little monkeys. A a real highlight.

We got to Sugerloaf by Uber which was a cheap way to travel. There are four queue lines and we were directed to the one on the left which was for over 60s (which I am but my son isn't) . Thus we by-passed a long queue and when we got to the cash desk we were able to go in front of others. The ride up to the first station is great with amazing views. There are shops and restaurants on the first level. We stayed there for about an hour before taking the next cable car up to the top. You can stay as long as you like. We were probably there for about three hours and then ordered an Uber (free Wi-fi) to go back to our hotel.

I went to this place twice. Once walking with my kids and once with the cable car with my parents. The walk up is great, it's steep but short, it's a fantastic way to get to the first station. The stations are great, lots of space to walk, sit, eat/drink something. This is also a great place for people with mobility issues as they have priority to get to the cable car.

You can't go to Rio and not think of Sugarloaf Mountain. It was as spectacular as I thought it would be. I hate heights but, on our trip up, I found someone worse than me! But once back on solid ground it was fine, and the view over Rio is breath taking. I stood for 10 minutes watching planes take off & land at the airport. The sky above is a constant whirling of birds catching the updrafts & great to watch. It was a bright sunny afternoon, but the Redeemer was still fog bound! It was part of our tour, so I have no idea how much it was, but I can say it was totally worth it.

Sensational view at sunset from Morro da Urca (first hill). Keep in mind that Brazilians pay less. Excellent place. I highly recommend it.

Ticket was pre-booked by our tour guide, so no queuing. The view was spectacular on the way up and when we got to the first stage. Onto the top and
we took over a restaurant where tapas and wine flowed until it went dark. The view was just as stunning.
