Located in Falmouth, Trelawny the Luminous Lagoon (Glistening Waters) is a natural wonder, it is a phosphorescent lagoon where guests are taken on a beautiful night cruise. This is an attraction that must be experienced when visiting Jamaica. This experience is magical as the microscopic organisms in the water, when disturbed glows and creates an eerie glistening light. Come and watch the fish in the lagoon swim and dart around and see their outlines in colors sparkling as they light up in the darkness. This water is about 8 feet deep and is very safe to swim in. It is truly an amazing experience to be swimming and watching the water glows and light up around you. Maximum group size is 15.

The blue lagoon was a great 1st time experience. They were giving out complimentary rum punches before the boat ride. The boat guide was knowledgeable about the area and science behind the illuminated water. Only downfall was the water would only illuminate the most in the colder parts of the water vs warm. The photographer clearly didn’t enjoy his job either by the photos he took of us but 1 monkey don’t stop no show so I would still recommend

The rum punch was the best part of this experience. Maybe the bioluminosity did not impress me and I choose not to swim. Too dark

Very cool short excursion to see the phenomenon that is the Luminous Lagoon. Our driver was super pleasant and timely he took us to a location where we waited for our boat, we got a complimentary cocktail and watched some locals perform on a stage during our wait. Went out into the lagoon, I was concerned about the visibility because it was a full moon but it was a beautiful sight. DEFINITELY jump in! It's like swimming in a lava lamp. Unfortunately it did not photo or video record well on my iPhone.

The brightness of the lagoon is underwhelming in life. But the light is really spectacular on photos. It's also pretty neat swimming in it. But not that amazing when viewed from the boat.
