Our experience takes place in a Hungarian family business, a beautiful and cozy Chimney Cake Shop. We provide a true experience in making the Hungarian/Transylvanian Chimney Cake - which traditionally is called Kürtőskalács.
The Kürtőskalács is a Hungaricum, and we are proud to share the secrets of making this simple dessert with our guests from around the world.

We went with friends to the famous thermal baths of Szechenyi and we planned to do spa day until the afternoon so we could join this workshop after, which is literally 1 minute away from the spa. So we joined, we were only there as they have a small capacity in this location it seems, but Betty was a fabulous host, and we enjoyed our chimney cake making a lot. We grabbed a coffee after, as the spa made us sleepy. The perfect afternoon snack by our drinks were the chimney cakes we made!

There were 8 ladies/friends in our group. We had a great time being silly together and our teacher just joined in with us! It was a fun time learning how to make the cakes.

We enjoyed the intimacy of being out of the tourists and being with a local learning about something of Hungarian past. And being hands on makes it more fun. Later on our vacation we were in Praha (Prague)and we were able to pass some information to him that we learned about the chimney cake that he wasn't quite sure of.
Enjoy eating them and don't over cook them

Had a wonderful time with 3 generations of family members (including kids ages 9 and 11) at this chimney cake making class. Our instructor was knowledgeable and patient, her English was perfect, and the cakes turned out great! She really made the experience amazing and was so helpful.

My cousin and I had the best time learning how to make this delicious pastry! It was a highlight of our trip. Would definitely recommend you try this out too! We made three chimney cakes so got to enjoy a tasty snack later :) The teacher was also so sweet.
