WHAT TO EXPECT

Transportation from Old San Juan to Isla Verde Touristic Zone/Area or in a PRE–SELECTED MEETING POINT such as DOUBLETREE by HILTON HOTEL IN SAN JUAN - Our exclusive location seats close to the Highest Rainforest Reserve in Puerto Rico, Toro Negro Reserve, Bosque Estatal Tres Pichachos, and the Highest Peak in Puerto Rico Cerro Punta in Jayuya - > Please be advised, We required a minimum of 3 to 4 participants to make this tour happen.
2. Puerto Rico
First, before a good hike, we will make a "quick stop" and our guide will lead the way, tracing the “footsteps” of a traditional coffee-producing Puerto Rican family. After learning about Puerto Rican coffee, you have the option to sample delicious coffee in your form of preference: latte, cappuccino, macchiato or black, etc(for purchase - not included in the price). Don’t forget to take home a nice bag of authentic Puerto Rican coffee at an affordable price! It will be also a "baño", an artisan "café" and a quick snack/breakfast stop.
3. Puerto Rico
On this Into The Mountains Hiking Adventure, we will venture into the Door of the Mountain Range of Puerto Rico, enjoying a beautiful panoramic view through the countryside before reaching our exclusive nature reserve. This breathtaking off-the-beaten-path hike, suitable for physically fit people and seasoned hikers alike (LEVEL: MODERATE TO CHALLENGING, STEEP HIKING, HAVE GOOD BALANCE AND RIVER TREKKING SKILLS) will lead us through a well-established path. Emotions come alive as we immerse ourselves into the subtropical forest and venture our way to meet an old centenary native tree at the top of the mountain, more than 300 years old. After that, we will continue our journey, visiting beautiful and unique waterfalls, one of which is 150 feet tall. Before reaching the trail's end, we will stop in a natural pond surrounded by a lush landscape where we will serve Freshly Cut Tropical Fruits. You will get to sit down and unwind in a Private Nature Reserve.
4. Puerto Rico
After a great day, you get to enjoy a savory Puerto Rican meal in the countryside (with an amazing panoramic view of the central mountain range of Puerto Rico) and you will want to come back all over again...

Hiking Level (Off The Beaten Path) - Moderate to Challenging with some steep hiking and river trekking sections - Suitable for all Physically Fit People. (((Please be advised, most participants, that doesn’t fall into this category, usually cannot keep up the required pace, cope with the sustained hiking on steep terrain, and regularly do not complete the adventure. This usually slows everyone down and can result in a safety hazard.)))
• If concern by mosquitos, it is recommended you wear and extra layer under your shirt and pants. Example: long sleeve dry fit tee and compression cool dry sports tights pants base layer. Another option would be Hiking Pants or Bug Repellent
• Pick up at 7:00 am return at 4:00 to 5:00 pm approximately (subject to the number of participants on the tour, weather, traffic and participants' skill level)
• Sleep and eat well so you can be sharp for a Good Hiking/Trekking Day. (Disclaimer: if by any reason we think you’re a not well rested and this could compromise the safety of the tour you might no be allowed to participate in the adventure)
• Please be advised, We required a minimum of 3 to 4 participants to make this tour happen.
• Age Limit: 18 to 60 yrs old. Please keep in mind this is a real off the beaten path hiking tour.

Andrés, what an amazing day. It was challenging but I felt safe and encouraged throughout the entire hike. This tour was what dreams are made of. The beauty of the island is priceless. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge and love for Puerto Rico.
Your communication leading to the scheduled date was very efficient and detailed. The designated meet up spot was easy, morning coffee and chat that led to epic hike, stunning waterfalls, refreshing dips and spectacular views was well planned and executed. This could easily be described as a once in a lifetime opportunity for many individuals! It is also more suited for those risk tolerant and not averse to the risks requiring signing of a waiver. Dont let all the treats before and during the hike distract you from making a careful decision to do this. Your cardio workouts will come in handy but the risky part is just the climbing on rocks and through some literal unbeaten paths off of cliffs. However, if you are up for the challenge, Andre has taken great care in developing a creative experience that combines a full day of cultural immersion and adventure. Wear good hiking shoes, don't come hungover, and be a good person to the host and others in your group. Work as a team encourage each other, reserve your judgement on others abilities and it will be a beautiful day. Also for those that can't swim, not strong swimmers or just don't like to swim you can still do this and enjoy it. Last tip if the meeting spot is the Super Max walk across the parking lot to the street in front of the store.

The hiking on this trip was challenging but it was the most fun tour I have ever been on. The hike was incredible, as a person who likes outdoor activities like rock climbing and swimming. It was entirely secluded from people outside of our small group. The coffee and food on this tour alone made it worth the trip. Just do it!

Definitely a hidden gem of a tour! I HIGHLY recommend booking this if you love coffee and hiking. André is an amazing tour guide and also gave great recommendations for food and coffee in San Juan. Truly an amazing experience!! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in San Juan.

This was one of the BEST tours I have been on in any of my travels! Andre is an amazing host! He took the time to get to know each guest and was super friendly throughout the whole experience. Although the weather in PR had been shaky the past few days, he was honest about what we could expect and updated us about any changes - answering questions quickly and efficiently. The tour itself was a lot of fun! It was a small group which I appreciated, it gave us all time to really enjoy the experience. Everyone was super friendly as well! The path that Andre takes you on gives you a true rainforest experience. I appreciated the level of work that he has clearly put into making it the best. The tour was challenging at times but nothing that was too difficult. There is plenty of time to ask questions and go as slow as you need to. Another aspect that I appreciated was the time given to take photos and relax in all the waterfalls (AMAZING views btw!!). Nothing felt rushed at all. The morning coffee stop and afternoon lunch stop made this tour a 10/10 experience. It made it even more personalized and let’s you embrace even more of the Puerto Rican culture - providing you with authentic and delicious experiences.
Overall I definitely recommend this tour to everyone. Andre is very accommodating, quick to answer questions, and provides a once-in-a-lifetime AUTHENTIC PUERTO RICAN experience!

Do not pass up on an opportunity to experience this adventure!! If I could give it 10 stars I would! Andre was the best local guide. He went above and beyond to make our day amazing. From stops at local eateries to experiencing the beauty of the Puerto Rican rainforest complete with all the views and even fresh fruits! We will never be able to find another experience like this anywhere.

Andre was an excellent tour guide, and the hike was the most beautiful part of the rainforest I have seen in Puerto Rico. The small group was great and the food stops before and after the hike were a great touch. Just be ready to get muddy and wet.

A truly beautiful and unforgettable experience. From the breathtaking waterfalls, and scenic views to the fresh fruit, and little stops along the way…everything is so thought out and carefully planned. The passion and work that Andrés put into the planning and preparation is unmatched. The coffee and lunch stops were out of this world delicious and it was so nice to see the countryside.

It was raining the morning we went out and we were given the option of cancelling or postponing, Andrés was so thoughtful and accommodating. A small group of us went anyways and it was the most perfect day. The light rain was beautiful and even refreshing.

If you’re thinking about going, stop thinking and book this now. You won’t be disappointed.

This excursion was fantastic, Andres was such a great host and you can really tell he puts a lot of pride and effort into making it the experience that it is. We started our day at the cutest little coffee shop where the food and coffee were delicious. The hike was unbelievable. Completely private and our small group were the only ones there. The waterfalls and views were absolutely breathtaking. We had the most refreshing mango and pineapple mid-hike which was such a nice treat. It was also really nice just chatting with Andres, as he’s really easy to talk to. Based on the description of the hike, and all the information he provides you beforehand, you really know what to expect beforehand. We ended our day at an euthentic low key Puerto Rican restaurant and the food was cheap and delicious. We had such a great time and would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants a more private; intimate experience where you are not fighting a bunch of people.

Also, you should book directly from their platform AlturaPR as many of the companies take a sizable chunk from what they charge and he is an individual running his own business, not some bigger company

The perfect adventure and exposure into the rainforest/mountains of Puerto Rico! This was the highlight of our trip. And we did not run into a single other tour group!
