Very wind-dependent. Pilots were very thorough and extremely safety-conscious. They helped with explaining all the steps and getting you prepared to do this in a very professional manner. One video was not transferred properly. Even after a few days, Rick at Rioadventures responded promptly and the same day had arranged for the missing video to be available for download. Would highly recommend them.

Great experience with Rio Adventures. We had to postpone the activity because of bad weather, they were very responsive and involved so that I could do it before my departure. The team was very nice. I had an unforgettable time!

My guide Haneto was easily the most competent man in the takeoff zone, and he had a very fun personality too! The coordinator was very nice and paid great attention to weather conditions. They also had an amazing “360 video” option that I have not seen in my extensive history of travel. Best option by far!!

Everything was absolutely perfect! Booking was super easy, fast and stress free. Ronaldo is extremely kind and clearly made it his top priority to ensure that I felt safe and welcome. He was very helpful when it came to transferring the photo/video files on my phone afterwards as well. Everything went smoothly, from filling out the insurance, to driving to the ramp, to the short safety and training beforehand, and of course the flight itself. Overall a 10/10 experience. The views were amazing. Rio Adventures did a great job of making sure all of my friends and I felt safe. They were very organized and addressed any doubts we had. If you have to chance to go hangliding I highly recommend.

We booked this adventure through our hotel to ensure safe transport and include the video option. The flights themselves were incredible and we highly recommended doing it(Rio is one of the top places in the world to hang glide). Expect a less-organized tour, however. The day was 3 hours longer than expected due to a shared-pilot pool and high tourist volume. Very difficult for English-only speakers and little communication regarding updates or expectations.
Some things you should know:
Tour is very wind-dependent, so don’t plan a tight schedule around your flight
“Larger” guests will not be able to hang glide, but may have to parasail/paraglide instead (still not sure what the max weight/height is though)
Extra steps are required for minors, including passport recordkeeping (via WhatsApp) and sign-off from guardian on-site (though the additional cost was included/removed in the overall package price)
No guidance was given on basic prep - be sure to use insect repellent (launch site is in the Tijuca Forest), wear comfortable clothes, and recommend close-toed shoes (you do have to run to take off)
10% additional charge for credit cards (hotel confirmed this might include 5% for an informal tourist tax)

It was a great experience. Really recommended. Rio Adventures did a great job scheduling my flight with Ronaldo Asa, A very nice guy, great pilot. I had nothing to worry about. He did an outstanding job with the flight, the pictures and videos.
