Absolutely unprofessional! Nowhere in the tour information or booking was it listed that if there were not enough participants that the tour company would cancel, yet this is exactly what they did! The afternoon prior we received an email and text from the tour provider asking if we could reschedule to a different day due to there not being enough participants, and stating that if unable the tour would be canceled. This made it VERY difficult to schedule another tour with another provider due to being absolutely last minute and took away a very looked forward to and valuable part of our vacation. I will never schedule with Riviera Maya again! the only reasonable part of the provider is that the refund was rapidly processed.

We LOVED seeing the ruins, learning about the Mayan civilization and swimming in the cenote. Our hosts/guides were really wonderful - Liberado ably handled traffic and bumpy roads and helped us make the best time we could; Tonancy (not sure of spelling) handled all of the ticketing and kept us informed about procedures, with a great sense of fun and joy - she also helped me bargain with a vendor in a respectful and appropriate way then gave me the cultural info and history of the item I purchased; Maria was just outstanding - she was knowledgeable and engaging, careful of our comfort and well-being and the needs of the different populations in our group of 8 people. She not only taught us about the Mayan people, but framed what we learned in the context of other cultures, to help us have deeper connection and understanding and not see the Mayans as "other." We went at the end of May and took the earliest tour (they picked us up right on time at our hotel), but it is a long and HOT day with lots of driving time, so be prepared for that, but totally worth it. The cenote was heavenly. The air conditioning in the van did not work well - we hope the company can fix that - it was hot not only for guests, but also for the guides/hosts who have to work in these conditions every day.

Maria is an amazing tour guide. She is super knowledgeable about the Mayan civilization and is well prepared with magazines and iPad for explanations. She also offered to take multiple pictures for us. She is kind, enthusiastic and extremely helpful.

The day was great, there were only 6 of us in the group in Spanish and another 5 in the group in English (there were 2 guides). Our wonderful guide Antonio gave us very good explanations, advised us on the best shots for photos and even offered to take them for us. At all times attentive to the group. A marvel. The two spectacular archaeological tours. Getting to Chichen early was great. The very beautiful cenote. Our driver Liberto is a crack. To improve the van for this day and some small adjustments with schedules since a group that was not ours picked us up and we waited almost an hour in Chichén to complete the group that was continuing. We know that it is a complex logistics issue, a lot of land and many hotels and doing it this way is more efficient and sustainable.
Highly recommended.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Jésus, Gabriel, and Marcel are amazing! We had such a great time touring Chichen Itza, Hibiku Cenote, and Ek Balam! We were so shocked at the depth of knowledge that Jésus provided us; we learned so much and highly recommend this tour to anyone looking into touring the ruins. Everything from the price, the transportation, to the small, intimate size of the group was absolutely perfect!!

The driver did not show up, and they cancelled the trip half hour after the supposed pick up time. We lost a day of excursion because of this

Amazing trip! We were promptly picked up from our hotel and in a small group, taken to Chichén Itzá before it became busy. This was great as it meant we could have plenty of time, and photos, to take before the madding crowds. We went to the cenote which was also fantastic and had plenty of time there, again nice and quiet, before a delicious buffet lunch. Ek Balam was fabulous too with plenty of time to look around and we learned so much about the history of each place we went not to mention current Mayan culture. Our guide Jesus was so knowledgeable and a real gem. Our other guides and drivers were fantastic too. Highly recommend this trip, well worth it and we covered a lot in a day but it wasn’t at all tiring!! Thank you so much guys, Meryl and Ioan, Wales, UK

We are in Riviera Maya on our honeymoon.
A while ago we returned from spending a fabulous day with Jesús, our guide, which we loved. It is clear that he is passionate about his work, he clarifies your doubts and, in addition, makes very interesting contributions and recommendations during all visits. The group was small, 11 people, which is appreciated. They made us get up early, but when you arrive at Chichen Itzá and see that you have a little time to see it with fewer people, you enjoy it much more.
We have been left wanting more, that's why we thought about returning another time, with more family, and we plan to repeat with Excursiones Riviera Maya. Thanks for everything!!!

It was a full day because we were picked up at 6:30am & dropped off at 8pm, so be prepared to be exhausted. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end. Our guide was very informative & our driver was excellent. We saw Chichen Itza early before the crowd rush, went to Hubiku cenote, had a buffet lunch & went to Ek Balam. It was a full, busy day that kept my teens happy with adventure & me intrigued with history. Our guide & driver were so helpful & informative & even after dealing with a flat tire delay, gave us enough time to enjoy every site. I strongly recommend if you’re looking for history & adventure & have the energy to go a full day.
