1. Ryogoku Station
Our guide will meet you at Ryogoku station (Ground level of West Exit) and will walk together to start the tour. We will walk famous sumo town with experienced guide to have more understanding about sumo. Lunch venue is Edo Noren which is themed as Edo period of Japan and it has full scale sumo ring inside that makes a great atmosphere of old Japan. Please enjoy the sumo themed atmosphere and Japanese Edo Gourmet Dining.
2. The Sumida Hokusai Museum
Hokusai, an ukiyo-e artist from the late Edo period, published over 34,000 works over a period of 70 years, ranging from all kinds of human gestures to landscapes such as Mt. Fuji, waterfalls, and bridges. Kokusai museum was established at this location as it is said that Katsushika Hokusai lived his life in Sumida area. Hokusai is the only Japanese to be ranked among the ``100 people in the world who have achieved the greatest achievements in the past 1000 years".
3. Ryogoku Station
We will make a quick train ride to move to Kiyosumi gardens.
4. Kiyosumi Teien
This is where the beauty of Japanese gardens lies. The silence and artistic scenery will make you feel as if the history of Japan is being spoken to you right in your ears. This is a ``walking forest garden'' that mainly features spring water, rockeries, and dry landscapes. This landscaping method was used in the gardens of feudal lords during the Edo period, but it is also a beautiful garden that was inherited from the landscaping of the Meiji period.
5. Fukagawa Edo Museum
This is a life-size reproduction of the townscape of town in Tokyo at the end of the Edo period, and the changes of the day are created with sound and lighting, and Everyday tools are placed inside each house, and you can actually go up into the house and touch the tools. Closed on 2nd and 4th Mondays (open if Monday falls on a holiday) New year holiday season Temporary closure (equipment inspection, exhibition changes, etc.)
