What a geat experience !
We wanted to learn about the pearls and decided to book this tour. Our guide Mani was so friendly and very knowledgeable.
He taught us a lot about pearls and answered all our questions.
Then you take a short boat ride to the diving area where the oysters are hanging in baskets and you get to choose yours. When we got back to the little island we had a small refreshing break with fresh fruits, sodas and beers while our guide and the captain were singing tahitian ukulele. It was really nice.
Then Mani carefully opened our oysters and pulled out our pearls.
Great gift and souvenirs from Bora Bora, highly recommend this tour !

This was the best experience I have ever went on. From start to finish they were so amazing. They tell you the history of the Tahitian pearl and how it all works, then you go out and pick your oyster. They pull up the bag for you and you select which one you want. They carefully open it and extract the pearl! I can't even describe how amazing it was to see the entire process and you get to keep your pearl to take home! Once in a lifetime experience. Cannot recommend this enough.

If you’re looking for something unique to do in Bora Bora, this is the tour for you! I have been wanting to dive for my own pearl but I’ve always heard these were a tourist trap. That is not the case here. We happened to stumble upon this tour and are so glad we did! We were wowed throughout the entire tour and there were so many small touches throughout the tour that made this company stand out.
We were picked up from our hotel by our tour guide Manu, who is amazing and very knowledgeable. He took us on a short boat ride to their little motu where he first explained in detail how the pearl is formed and all the steps it takes to grow just a single pearl. He also told us what to watch out for when buying pearls. This 25 min talk was so informative and really made us appreciate all that goes into harvesting pearls.
Before boarding the boat, they provided us a handwoven bag, which they later let us keep, to house our oyster. They also had a selection of snorkel gear and towels to bring on the boat. There was a changing area and very clean bathroom as well.
We then boarded the boat and traveled five min to their pearl farm where there were hundreds of oysters hanging in baskets under the water. We swam a short distance to get to their location. He let us choose one basket which had 8 oysters. They also brought up another basket that they picked and we were allowed to choose from any a total of 16 oysters. They also stated that if the pearl we received was not good quality, they would let us pick another (after they cut the oyster we selected, they brought back the entire basket as well).
After the boat ride back, we were ready to have our oyster open. However they surprised us with freshly cut fruit and a selection of water, sodas, or beer. We did not expect this at all, and it was a very nice treat to have after our little swim.
After that, Manu carefully opened our oyster and talked us through the entire process as to what was happening. He let us peek inside and pulled out our pearl. It was a nice quality pearl and we were very happy with it!
They then polished it and put it in a nice bottle and bag for us to take home. Because they are not attached to a jewelry store, there was no pressure to buy as well as no upselling (which is something I was cautioned about with other pearl farms).
The owner even came over to talk to us as well and everything seemed very personalized; we felt we were hanging out with friends. We felt very well taken care of throughout the entire tour and the company had such great customer service. They really knew how to make an event so memorable from the educational portion of farming to ensuring all of us were safe in the water to their ukulele playing and singing. They really have a passion for what they do and it definitely shows. The views throughout the entire tour were also breathtaking as well.
The price was reasonable and for all the things they gave us on the tour, I felt they could have charged more. We had a party of three but only one of us wanted a pearl. I thought all of us would have to purchase one in order to go on the tour, but that was not the case.
They charged the other two participants a nominal fee and they got to do everything (snorkeling, snack, etc) except take home a pearl.
I can’t say enough good things about this experience as well aa Manu, and it was probably one of the best tours I’ve ever been on. It was definitely memorable and unique. I was able to get my pearl set into a necklace and now I have a unique story behind it!
