As such, it attracted a large number of royal and high prestige burials, the remains of which can be seen in pyramids and decorated tombs Saqqara features numerous pyramids, including the famous Step Pyramid of king Djoser the oldest pyramid in Egypt and its beautiful temple , columns way and the house of the north and the south, Also you can see and get into the pyramid of King Unas which is famous of its amazing Texts inside it, and the small pyramid of king Titi ,and other magnificent painted tombs of the high officials in ancient Egypt like the tomb of vizier Kagemni with its unique decorations and scenes and the ancient doctor Ankhmahor's tomb. And the most beautiful monument of Meriruka, the largest of the Old Kingdom tombs at Saqqara and reflects his very important position as a vieser with its wall relief of the inner courtyard and entrance gateway,. We had a wonderful tour with our tour guide Mohammed, who was friendly and very helpful. His knowledge of Egyptian history was incredible. He explained the first dynasty kings and in detail explained the building of the pyramids - Step, Bent and Red pyramid. He gave us a fantastic tour inside a highly decorated mustaba, explaining the life and times of the king. This was fascinating and really helped to understand the way of life in around 2700BC. Mohammed also took us inside the step pyramid, which again was breath taking to see the huge shaft. The most exciting part of the tour was going inside to see the large black sarcophagus’s. Again, Mohammed spent time answering all our questions and explained different hypotheses as to why the Serapium was built. It is a must and is breath taking to see such ancient creations. We cannot praise Mohammed enough, he is an extremely knowledgeable guide. It was a lifetime memory - thank Mohammed 5* Paul & Roger

This tour was perhaps the most interesting experience of my entire life. My Egyptologist guide, Deen, and expert driver, Faisal, were two of the finest people I met during my travels in Egypt. They are intelligent and funny and kind. They met me at my hotel in the morning. Faisal carefully drove us from site to site, making sure i felt safe and comfortable (and hydrated) the whole time. Deen took me inside each site and gave me a personal tour detailing exactly how the ancient Egyptians lived thousands of years ago. He also gave me plenty of time to explore and take photos on my own. He was always nearby enough to answer all my questions. Before visiting the Great Pyramids, i highly recommend taking this tour with Faisal and Deen. If you really want to experience and learn about Ancient Egyptian culture, this tour will show you where it all began. I will be thinking about it for the rest of my life.

The tour was perect. Our guide Oussama is such a nice guy, he had all the informations we needed and even more. The serapeum visit is amazing but was even better thanks to our guide and his deep knowledge of Egyptology , history and archeology. I recommend 100% .

I took this tour with Deen and Fisal, as a solo traveller. It was a great experience, so often when you’re the guides sole focus it can become intense. Deen sensed when it was the time I just wanted to look and not listen. When I was ready he moved on with his presentation with out missing a beat. I really appreciated this time to just take the site in. I came away from the experience with a greater understanding of its place in an amazing history. As for Fisal not only did he navigate the frenetic Cairo traffic but he makes a great Tea and even better coffee.. fair warning though, it may keep you awake 😀

We had a wonderful day being shown around the tombs in Saqqara by our guide Deen. If he is available we highly recommend him as a guide - Deen is very friendly, professional, punctual and knowledgeable. A fantastic site and you will see scenes, sculptures and colours you won’t see elsewhere. There were also less people than the other sites (April). The excavations are also revealing more and more secrets. Don’t miss it!

Zein is a fantastic guide! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about ancient Egypt and how everything was created. He is equally passionate about the preservation of the pyramids, tombs and artifacts.

We had a great time on this tour with Deen as our guide, we got to see so many sites at Saqqara and I would definitely recommend this tour for those who want a more in depth tour of the area. We visited the step pyramid, pyramids of Unas and Teti, new kingdom tombs, old kingdom tombs and the serapeum. A really good value tour with a knowledgable and enthusiastic guide

I loved this part of my trip. I did not have much time but the agency made sure to pick me up early and drop me off at the airport. Imane (Emy) was amazing. She gave us a whole tour of the sakkara sites. She explained in details the history. She even took me to buy my sons amazing necklaces with their names in calligraphy. The drive was smooth back and forth alongside the site.

I cannot recommend this tour enough, and if you are lucky to get Mr. Sam as your guide, you are in for a real treat. As a former history professor, he really brought everything we saw to life. He explained to us the meanings of the hieroglyphs, brought us to the most outstanding tombs, helped us avoid the crowds, took great pictures for us, and really made this a tour we will never forget. Moreover, his stories are easy to follow and understand, and keeps you very much captivated.
Saqqara is one of the must see places when visiting Cairo, and seeing it with Mr. Sam is the absolute best way to do it.
