We booked this through our travel agent, and it was really one of the funniest parts of our trip. The dinner was better than we expected, and we had a half bottle of champagne. Nice people sitting around us as well. The show is pretty amazing. It is notable that it is topless, at least for the women. I’m not exactly sure what this adds to the quality of the show, but it is certainly a throwback from an earlier day. Still, lots of talent up there on this stage.

If you're looking for a contemporary take on a the romanticism of Parisian culture, then a visit to the Red Mill is worth your time.
Those expecting a pinnacle of fine art and expertly choreographed dances may be slightly disappointed, the entire show is a visual extravaganza with eye catching costumes and entertaining acts.
There are overtones of cobblestones and accordians of Paris of yore.
It's worth the time and expense!
TIPS:
Get the bundled champagne package
Travel: the Metro stops @ the Windmill! And is open after the late show on a Friday or Saturday

So, we did several cabarets and this one is out of proportion with the others. not cheesy, not porn, big means, quality: just an hour and a half fairy.
I had taken the total (with meals - it was Joce’s birthday) but I hesitated because of the comments indicating that the menu was not level and that we were crowded, etc.

it’s very good, very fine. maybe not at the price level, anyway (100 € per person extra), but what do we have today in a beautiful place in Paris for less than 50 € starter-dish-dessert? and above all, it allows us to be in the atmosphere of this magnificent room and this fabulous event for two more hours. there is an orchestra playing, it’s very nice, we can dance. the tables are very cramped, certainly, but it allows us to get to know our neighbors (unless we are a good ten and thus fill the whole table). we had beside us Australians from Brisbane and Americans from Los Angeles: it was very interesting to talk with them and share together this extraordinary moment.

the show: an avalanche of costumes, colors, (very) original choreographies, and the French cancan, revisited (I’m not a fan in general, but here, it’s unavoidable, and as soon as the first notes are heard, it’s riot!) very pretty smiling girls (they all have a white smile), beautiful boys with a slightly plastic face (real Kens), 3 excellent singers, not forgetting the interludes of an extraordinary technicality (we may even have for them – it’s high flight – if the dancers were slender, there, it’s all muscle).

and if, like me, you hesitate, tell yourself that such a reputation is not done on nothing.

Absolutely amazing unbelievable. To go to the moulin rouge has been on my bucket list for such a long time and I can tell you now it did not disappoint. My bf surprised me for my birthday. We went for the show and drinks package not the dining.
The show itself was unbelievable and breath taking. I was saying oh my god all the way through it was magical.
There is nudity. But after a while you do actually stop noticing I think us British are a tad pride so once you're over the shock of it it's such wonderful show it's done in a classy way. I loved every minute it was the perfect birthday present

We had a great time with family 👍😃. Welcome, meals and excellent show, in an exceptional setting. This is the second time, and we are still as amazed.

Packed in so we could not move, I cannot believe the theatre complies with safety standards, you could not walk to your table, you have to squeeze in through a small gap practically sitting on others tables to get to your seat. There were six to our table but all chairs could not fit around the table, we had to sit at an angle just to fit in. The theatre is old and faded. The male dancers were amateur, there were some excellent women. The whole thing is dated, the women strip in the first number to g strings and they bring out the men, you would expect them to strip too but no, they stay fully clothed. Pathetic, old fashioned, and just plain dated, do not waste your money. So over priced.

One off the bucket list & so glad we went. The building is so iconic. The food was lovely. How they serve so many people so quickly, and yet the food is piping hot and you still get a chance to rest between courses and chat to the waiters. You will be packed in (6 on a table that should really seat 4!!) but this just got us all talking and making friends. The food was lovely, well worth having & it also then gets you the front seats on that table. The gymnastic warm up acts were incredible...we found ourselves audibly gasping at the feats we were witnessing. The dancers and costumes were spectacular, and exceeded expectations. The dancers (male & female) are beautiful, so athletic, and with all the dances and costume changes, must work so hard to be as good as they are. Really appreciated how amazing they are. There is a souvenir stall inside, but as I wanted a few items like mugs etc, & didn't want them crushed under the table at dinner, we called there in the day on the way to Sacre Coeur, and went to the external souvenir shop just past the Moulin Rouge & right up the hill. I hadn't realised the actual windmill has either been decommissioned or is being refurbished, so there was a banner with a photo of it above the building where the windmill would be. I was gutted as I didn't know this, but just means I'll have to return again !!!!

Hang the expense - this show must not be missed. Thw whole experience was great, from internet ticketing, to the pre-show entertainment over dinner, and THE show.
Dinner with a bottle of champagne was excellent with a 3 course dinner (2 choices for course). We had a fantastic view of the stage and the entertainers were perfect in precision. The show ran non-stop for 100 minutes. My highlight was the massed performances

I have to be honest, this was quite a disappointment. I’ve always wanted to go to the Moulin Rouge and having read a mixed bag of reviews, went with an open mind.

We opted for the dinner and show option. We were shown to our table and given a menu from which we could choose from a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 deserts. The food was served fairly quickly. What I would say is that whilst people are critical of the food, it is a mass catering event for worldwide palates therefore it isn’t going to suit everyone. We thought, bearing this in mind, the food was enjoyable and certainly plentiful. Champagne was tasty too!

Then the show started 🙈

Oh dear. The male dancers are terrible, one in particular didn’t know the routine. Other reviews make reference to dad dancing, holiday and amateur shows and I have to say, I can’t disagree with this.

The women are substantially better but there is a lot of parading around rather than routines. There are some bizarre sections too, like the circus and the 1945 section; they didn’t fit with the rest of the show. And the strange water tank which arose from the stage… I thought the lady who was in the water might be doing some kind of escape routine but no, she just swam around under water! No idea what that was about!

The cancan, the showstopper came. No high-kicking lineup, but lots of acrobatics and annoying high pitched screams. Had the show ended on a high-octane Cancan I think the audience would have been delighted. Instead what followed was another lacklustre performance and the audience didn’t seem to know whether the show had ended or not.

The acrobats who perform between sections are fabulous and go some way to saving the show.

Whoever is choreographing this show currently needs to remember that this is the worldwide renowned Moulin Rouge and not an evening show in a holiday resort. Its history and reputation deserves better. As do the audiences paying a substantial amount to go.

A memorable experience but slightly disappointing.

Had wanted to visit the Moulin Rouge for so long! The atmosphere was very good and we were fortunate to have good seats although we did have to sit slightly sideways to see. We hadn’t opted for the meal, which I think was the right decision.

The costumes were amazing and we enjoyed the fill in acrobatic acts. The singing was definitely lip synced rather than live, but that was ok.

The most disappointing part was the bit I was most looking forward to - the can can! No single line of synchronised high kicking and the one by one splits, it was more lots of cartwheels and twirling around. And not done as the grande finale which most people would have expected!

The show seemed to suddenly end with the audience uncertain as to whether it had actually finished, but the lights came on and that was it!

Wish there had been more of the classic can can rather than circus, clowns and fifties dances and some other quite bizarre routines.

A memorable experience though (although very very expensive, especially the drinks) so happy we went, but not quite as amazing as we hoped for.
