Very helpful gentleman at the kiosk at Vienna airport. His name was Asad, he helped us plan our journey and get our tickets and gave us directions to the train.

I totally advise against using this train, the ticket was expensive and it left 45 minutes late, it made us miss the return flight, never again!

A real cheek!
Never again!!!
I used CAT's services 6 months ago. There were technical problems with dropping off luggage at Vienna Central Station. We lost almost an hour.
Result: We had already checked in online, but the luggage had to stay in Vienna.
I then claimed damages of €170. I was very accommodating and only charged the cost of storing luggage, as friends were able to take our luggage with them the next day.
The damage was acknowledged by support. But the management idiots didn't even respond.
Please share. It doesn't work like that.

The train is excellent but the cost for two or more people from the city may make a cab more sensible - particularly if you are leaving from terminals 1 or 1A as the hike from the train to check in is a lot longer than Heathrow’s.

Think about it if you are older or had a big day hiking around Vienna through the Museums.

Yes, you can use the slightly slower local line to reach the city center for a cheaper price, and in hindsight, I should’ve probably done so. But without a comparison to another option like that, I can say with confidence that the CAT is clean, comfortable, spacious, convenient, and very accommodating of wheelchairs (i.e. no advance notice needed). Just flag down an employee on the platform, and they’ll get the ramp to use to roll onto the train. That easy!

I appreciated the inclusion of three languages (German, English, AND Spanish) in the welcome announcements and safety videos (which were very entertaining to watch). There were plenty of areas to store baggage. The Wifi onboard was fantastic, albeit slow.

It is evident that the folks behind CAT have put the effort in to ensure a more glamorous and very seamless, worry-free trip to/from Vienna Airport. Sometimes the peace of mind that you’ll make it to the city center without the need to stop, change lines, or pay hidden fees is what counts, and CAT delivered.

The fast train is advertised everywhere in the airport. 48€ (2 people) compared to 8€ (2 people) for the S-Bahn and only 6 minutes longer is disproportionate! It's a disgrace!

You’d be better off taking the normal trains to the airport at least you can take a luggage trolley from the platform. The CAT platform has none and never had any as I was informed buy one of their workers.

Extremely convenient and cheap transport to Wien Mitte. I transferred to U3 to get to Stephensplatz. Train is immaculately clean. Clear signage on where to go to catch train. Tons of green kiosks in arrivals baggage claim to purchase your ticket. I arrived on a Sunday so unfortunately stores at Wien Mitte Station Mall were closed, as were ticket offices. But I bought my U3 ticket to Stephansplatz at a kiosk. If you’ve been to Paris, London, then Vienna’s train system works same way.
