Visit former Nazi concentration Camp in Auschwitz which was the largest camp of Nazi Germany. See one of the oldest Salt Mine in the world. Discover both of these places on our full day trip from Krakow. In Auschwitz you will join licensed guide who will bring you closer to the history of this place. The memorial tour in Auschwitz begin at the entrance gate by the ironic slogan - “Arbeit macht frei” Next you will see prisoners’ barracks and railroad track that transported people to gas chambers. Auschwitz tour takes around 2 hours and Birkenau tour around 1-1.5 hour. After that our driver will drive you to Salt Mine. Tour in Salt Mine takes around 2.5h and during the tour you will see St Kinga’s Chapel - 54 m long and 12 m high chapel resembles interiors of medieval wooden churches and is a real underground wonder with breathtaking chandeliers made of salt crystals, underground corridors and landscapes thatcannot be seen on the surface saline lakes and beautiful underground chambers.

Amazing experience and very knowledgeable tour guide . Auschwitz was sombre and eerie as you would imagine but a part of history that has to be experienced . The salt mines are incredible too .

Going to a wedding a couple of weekends ago, with my daughter. We decided to do some sightseeing. Booked Auschwitz, Birkenau and salt mine with pick up from our hotel. Although a few miles outside of Krakow, the hotel was listed.
On the morning of flying out, and with less than 24 hours to trip, I received a message from tour company asking me for address of pick up. I was advised that I would need to pay for an additional transfer. I phoned Viator who passed the buck to the tour company. My contract was with Viator and I asked who would pay the extra cost. You can imagine the response!
From the small print, that I was directed to, I can see an extra charge would be incurred for airport pickup and if hotel not listed, we would have to get to Krakow. Despite the hotel being listed, Viator didn’t want to know. We had no option but to pay for the transfer.
Disgraceful behaviour and will think twice before using Viator again.

Excellent day- great guides at both sites and extremely well organised trip in comfortable mini bus with great driver/ tour organiser.
Just be aware it involves a lot of walking and a couple of slow walkers on our trip struggled to keep up

The trip was tiring but superb from start to finish. I don't give it 5 stars due to lack of information from TripAdvisor/Viator. We were not advised of the need to provide ID at Auschwitz. It was only through strings pulled by our extremely helpful driver that we were allowed admittance

Michael, our driver and guide for Auschwitz-Birkenau was very friendly and helpful. The group was much larger than I expected. They actually combined multiple van loads of visitors for the tours. The description said we would be provided with headsets, however, the only place we had headsets was for the tour of Auschwitz. It would have been very helpful to have headsets with the large group at the salt mine. Our tour guide at the salt mine said he was new and it was very apparent. At the end of the tour, rather than wait in line for the elevator that would take us up to the drop off point near the bus, our guide took us on a lengthy walk to another elevator. When we emerged from the elevator, we were far away from the main building where we started. Rather than showing our group back to the main building, near the meeting point, he told us to use google maps on our phones to find the building. I felt that this was poor customer service for what we paid.

Both tours were brilliant very educational, the views at the salt mines were something else. Patryk our transfer driver was very friendly. Would recommend to others considering both tours to split them in to separate days as pick up was 05.45 and we arrived back at the hotel around 18.00 this day involves a lot of walking.
