My husband and I take quite a few cooking classes as we travel throughout the world, and this was absolutely one of the best experiences that we’ve had. It provides more than just a cooking class, which, of course they do extremely well, but it allows you to interact on a very intimate level with their team. We always enjoy talking to people from the place and getting to know their views and cultural values and these women were a delight. (As was Tim, the owner, who later joined us in the feast we prepared. ) Every member of the 3 or 4 member team was enthusiastic and so genuinely welcoming! They elevated the experience beyond any of the other classes we have taken.

The bread, seafood tagine (which we made), delicious special mint tea, and various salads that the team prepared, made for a very tasty traditional Moroccan meal. All the ingredients were fresh from the market. Fatima has been cooking for several years with the team and is an excellent lead chef. Every member of the team are also highly capable of leading the class.

Their home is perfect for the classes. It was in an old building which was charming and comfortably cool. There is a separate room with beautifully set up modern cooking stations where it is easy to see and hear the lead chef. Fadoua spoke excellent English as did Lena and Tim’s delightful young daughter. The dining room is lovely and very attractively styled. All in all, an excellent cooking experience!!

Perfect change of pace after a busy morning. We did the royal couscous experience and there was another group of 5 tourists with us, but it was cool to meet them. Lina did a wonderful job leading the experience. It felt authentic. I highly recommend.

This was the highlight of our visit to Tangier. The ladies who taught the class were extremely welcoming, friendly, and patient with my lack of cooking prowess. My wife and I were instanly made to feel at home. It was wonderful to learn about the local dishes and to get to create a traditional meal from scratch. The end result was the best meal of our vacation to Spain and Morocco. Beyond the food, it was great to get to know the hosts and learn about their culture throughout the process. The formal tea was also phenomenal! I cannot recommend this experience enough. Make time for it, you will not regret it!

This was one of our favorite things that we experienced in Morocco! We enjoyed meeting the young women and hearing stories about their lives. They shared great recipes that we will use at home. By the end of our time, we felt like part of the family while we shared the food we made.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience! We toured the market then went to the school where we learned how to make bread, how to prepare festive tea (delicious) and in the beautifully appointed kitchen made chicken tagine which we then ate ate for lunch along with wonderful vegetable salads, our homemade bread and lovely cookies for dessert with more tea.
The ladies who taught us were kind, patient and very informative. At the end of the afternoon we left with a wonderful new recipe to try at home and a much better understanding of Morocco. It was a highlight of the entire trip.
One caveat - the school is on the 5 th story of a building with no elevator.

Incredible experience and do not leave Tangier without booking this class.

We started with a market tour, then headed over to the Blue Door home base and were warmly greeted by the staff and the owner, Tim.

The place has a large open kitchen and another room with five complete cooking stations - kind of like Top Chef!

First up - Moroccan bread making and the woman who taught us is a master. The uncooked loaves were then taken to a nearby public oven for baking.

We then went to our cooking stations and cooked our own chicken tagines, starting from scratch doing all the chopping and seasoning ourselves. The staff was there to help if needed.

While the tagines were cooking and the bread was baking, we then learned how to make traditional Moroccan tea.

To say the meal was delicious would be an understatement! It was wonderful!

It was the staff who really made this experience as great as it was. They’re all knowledgeable, warm, inviting, and giving. And they laugh a lot.

I was desperate to see the public oven so Tim had one of his staff take there. Don’t miss it.

And again, take this class. It will immerse you in the culture - and you’ll learn something.

Congrats to Blue Door Cuisine for designing such a great experience!

Totally awesome. A 110% recommendation. I had read gold reviews, but was overwhelmed anyway. So friendly and kind atmosphere and I really loved the opportunity to share some words about our lives with your lives. Even though they differ, we are the one and same soul. Love you!! Will definitely come back!
