Discover the delights of Split on this day trip from Dubrovnik. With an expert guide, traverse the historical city’s cobblestone streets and winding walkways during a 1.5-hour walking tour. 1. Dubrovnik
Meet your guide at your central Dubrovnik hotel in the morning. Then settle into your comfortable seat aboard an air-conditioned vehicle and travel north to Split, roughly three hours away. As you travel, gaze out at the gorgeous coastal scenery and listen to your guide talk about the day’s itinerary.
2. Split
On arrival, hop out of your minivan and set off on a walking tour of the coastal city's sights. With your guide leading the way, see the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace, a colossal imperial residence in the heart of Split Old Town. Head inside (own expense) for a stroll around Peristyle Square and to see the Cathedral of St Duje with its magnificent bell tower, as well as the Temple of Jupiter, a beautifully preserved Roman monument. As you wander, hear tales of the extravagant Emperor Diocletian and learn how the palace was featured in the hit HBO TV series Game of Thrones as the city of Meereen. After touring the palace, continue on to Republic Square (Prokurative), a Mediterranean-style plaza lined with striking neo-Renaissance buildings, and pass by the Ivan Meštrović Gallery. Then, navigate your way through the historic town’s narrow passages and hidden streets to Riva, a beautiful promenade that stretches the entire length of Split Old Town. Following your 1.5-hour walking tour, enjoy around three hours of free time to continue sightseeing independently. When you’ve worked up an appetite, head to a local restaurant for a traditional Dalmatian lunch (own expense). When the time comes, meet back up with your guide and group, and then return to your minivan for the drive back to Dubrovnik. During the journey back, stop at a roadside stall to pick up organic mandarins, honey and other local produce to nibble on (own expense). Your day trip concludes with a drop-off back at your hotel.

Driver, Daniel was very pleasant and informative. Walking Guide, Ana was very knowledgeable in historical terms but also gave us a real sense of life in Split and Croatia both now and in the past.

Our driver to and from Split was very nice informative. Our guide in was also excellent. We really know the background history of split now and that makes the trip even more.

Split is beautiful, enjoyed the commentary but the bus ride is too long. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery,our driver was very informative and our guide, Ana was very good. They were both on time and answered all our questions.
They both made our Split visit memorable and I will recommend to our friends.

I can’t give this a high rating. The only decent part of our tour was ANa, the tour guide.

We had reservations for September 11, and were asked to change for September 12. Lucky fir the tour company, we were flexible but it was still a hassle. We WAY overpaid for this trip. Our driver picked us up at 7:15, per the information we had we were planning on a 12 he day, that is what we paid for. But we left Split at 2:30 at the drivers suggestion. So we didn’t get the full 12 hrs and therefore overpaid.

We were in small van and not a comfortable bus like we assumed.

Overall,not impressed. We’d ask for our money back if possible.

Amazing day!! Zack was wonderful, very nice, friendly and knew so much about country and city! He got us to and fro safely. He was flexible and helped plan visit to winery that we really wanted to do.
Nadia our guide in Split was very knowledgeable!
Highly recommend this tour. Drive long but we’ll worth it!!! Beautiful city!!

Some people might hesitate to take a day trip to Split from Dubrovnik because it's a 3-hour ride, but this tour made everything fly by because of the comfort, care, and experiences. Our driver and guide, Marin, was so knowledgeable and kind, and he made the ride both to and from Dubrovnik seem so easy and enjoyable. He taught us about Croatian history, pointed out important landmarks, and taught us about local culture. When we got to Split, we were handed off to a local tour guide who led us on a 90-minute-or-so walking tour around the main area of Diocletian's Palace. We learned so much about the history of the palace, as well as unique anecdotes and stories about Croatian and Balkans history. We then got about two more hours to wander around and take in the sights. Also, as a bonus, on our way home, Marin stopped at the amazing town of Ston, where we got an extra 45 minutes to explore this quaint town with so much history! This tour was amazing!
