Go wild in the Western Cape on this Oudtshoorn overnight safari trip from Cape Town. Travel off the beaten track to get to see South Africa's wildlife and immerse yourself in nature. Visit Botlierskop Reserve - at Mossel Bay, the start of the coastal Garden Route region and Buffelsdrift in the heart of the Klein Karoo region - offering the perfect backdrop for an African wildlife experience.
This trip offers guided 4x4 drives at two private game reserves; as well as a chance to observe orphaned elephants roaming freely in nature (optional activity with extra costs). You'll overnight at the ostrich capital of the world about 5 hours driving from Cape Town.

This tour is led by a local qualified tour guide and game rangers during safaris. This introduction tour is ideal for anyone that visits the Western Cape region and have limited time to see wildlife and most of the Big 5 in natural game reserve settings.

• Daily drive time: about 4 to 6 hours / in total 900 km distance route. This packed, fast-paced itinerary is filled with many of the best highlights of the region and ideal for the young-at-heart traveller that wants to explore this vast region with limited time available.
• Children between 8 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult and book in a private room
• Children under 18 years of age are not allowed to book in Dorm room packages
• The exact itinerary is subject to change and may, on occasions, run in reverse order
• The exact arrival time in Cape Town on day 2 cannot be guaranteed as it is subject to weather and traffic conditions
• If you do not have plenty of time in South Africa, this tour is ideal for customers who can't visit Kruger National Park - but Kruger area has a more authentic safari experience indeed.
• According to availability at time of booking, accommodation will be in the mentioned hotel or in one of a similar standard and star rating
• Upgrade accommodation fees cannot be refunded if cancelled less than 8 days before the tour departure date.
• The tour operator already pre-booked space at all optional activities for the group and you can simply decide on the first day of the tour if you'll partake. Optional activities can only be paid on the tour directly to the supplier. Optional activities are subject to weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
• Personal comprehensive travel insurance is excluded and recommended
• The bush/game drive vehicle used are an especially adopted open-roof converted jeep or truck.
• Please do not book a flight for the departure date and/or last day of this tour. Pickup or drop-off times can't be guaranteed and is subject to traffic, season or group's addresses.
• Accommodation stay packages will overnight in different properties, each listed in the itinerary. Backpackers are usually far away from guesthouses / lodges.

I did a 2-day safari with HotSpots tours. Our guide, Denver, was exceptional! He was very knowledgeable about all the areas we passed through and taught us so much about South African history and culture. Our accommodation for the night was very comfortable and each stop we made for food was delicious. The two safaris we did were amazing- we saw all the animals we had hoped to see and more! I would recommend this activity and company to everybody :)

We did the 2 day safari and it was amazing! We were lucky to have such a cool tour guide. DENVER told us a lot of history, recommended us a lot of things. Told us about Do’s and Don’ts in Cape Town and made our tour simply perfect. We were happy to have him this two days.
The two different safaris were amazing, we saw a lot of wild animals and really enjoyed our time to the fullest.
We can only recommend this trip and company for this and other tour!! :)

The trip was amazing! Visited two separate reserves and both were absolutely beautiful. The guide (Uriel) was very friendly and helped you every step of the way. I definitely recommend this trip.

This was a great experience. The safaris were well run, with education/conservation being on point. The accommodations were wonderful and beyond expectations. Denver was an amazing tour guide! He exceeded expectations to ensure we had the best experience possible. His attention to detail was outstanding, even ensuring we had the best guide and seats on the safaris! We saw many beautiful animals and even walked with elephants.

We had a great time and saw lots of animals. Gerhard was the best and made it so much more fun!! He was super knowledgeable and helpful and took really good care of us.
I think an extra half day at Oudtshoorn would be a good idea, and we did not get the option for the braai dinner, but we saw and learned so much from the guides and all the transitions were seamless.
If you don't have the time and ability to do an extended safari and want to get a good idea of African Wildlife, this is the perfect tour!

It was a great discovery in the game reserves over 2 days.

Special mention to our driver Dylan from Hot spot 2C, with a committed company with great values.

I got a surprise cake for my birthday with Marshmallow.

The kindness of the group was also unparalleled! Everything came together to make it a good time!

We were able to discover the famous BIG Five and the Botlierskop farm guide took the time to stop and observe the animals so that we could take beautiful images as souvenirs!

We had an absolutely amazing time thanks to Dylan. He was so enthusiastic from the moment he picked us up from our location until dropping us off. He kept the drive entertaining and made sure we were safe 100% of the time. Loads of extra historical facts on route and plenty of stopping points, including some epic local knowledge. If you ever get Dylan you know you’re going to have an unforgettable time.
