We had booked this Mayapan Private tour for 2 of us, for 2nd March. The Mayapan Archeological site has been closed since November 2023. Yet this agency booked the tour. They let us know the previous evening that because of Mayapan closure they will take us to Izmal instead. It was too late for making other plans. The guide and driver were busy talking throughout the journey, amongst themselves, no interaction with us.
The Homun Ceynotes tour was ok. The Horse Drawn cart is mentioned in the tour, but these have long been discontinued. Please update the Tour description. We got shortchanged on Mayapan. They should have Not booked the tour or informed us while booking so that we could have used our day in a more productive manner. Probably with a different agency.

This is my second visit to Mérida with tours and transportation with Mérida Elite and contract tour guide Vicente.
Service is always excellent. Comfortable transport, friendly and safe driver, knowledgeable guide. They go above and beyond to make sure the trip was enjoyable!!

Viator and Mérida elite sent guide Carlos and driver Alex in a nice van arriving punctually to hotel. Educational and entertaining day thanks to articulate and knowledgeable guide Carlos. Mayapan site was uncrowded and interesting. There’s so much to learn about this area and Carlos is a great teacher.
Our first private tour (not a group). Well worth the additional cost. The lunch at Santa Barbara was the best meal all week. Lime soup and empanadas!
Viator is reliable, consistent and worth the extra cost. They hire outstanding ambassadors.

Enjoyed this tour. Interesting site near Merida. Pretty much had the site to myself. The tour operator and the tour guide were first class. The tour guide, Carlos, was exceptional.
