Not really a stadium tour when you get a quick photo in the stands and then briskly rushed to the pitch side via away dressing room for a quick photo. Tour was in Spanish and even with a Spanish person translating for us the information was pointless and not much education on the club. Also they had not cleaned anything up from game the day before, we went at 3pm and there was still bottles of urine in the stands from the game. Unless you want to learn how bad River plate stadium is then I wouldn’t bother going

We arrived early, as my email said 10-00am, but doors do not open until 10-00. We were told we could go around the museum which we did, but could not understand a thing. This was a well presented museum. The guy that checked us in spoke English and told us to be in front the train at 10-50 so therefore thought we are off to a good start. Arrived in front the train, only the tour was in Spanish. Really disappointed as we had gone to watch a match there and River Plate won, earlier that week, so booked the English tour to take out grandson around the stadium. I don’t need easy anything else do I.

we had done boca on our last visit so thought we would compare. the tour itself is brief and very factual eg here are the changing rooms, the pitch, the stands. at boca there is much more about the history of the club, with interesting stories to bring it to life. at River, we got the most out of the museum by chatting to one of the very knowledgeable staff who was intrigued about our support for Liverpool and who was amazed at some of the things we knew about football eg which french club Saviola played for, the Torino crash in 1949. he showed us the ball used when river played man city in 1952 !! so we had a good time despite the tour
