On stage, Medha is dancing and singing on the drums vibrations that electrifies the audience. This new and unique music show with original compositions, choreography, and contemporary storytelling will give you unforgettable emotions and a special understanding of Cambodian’s tradition.

The band, Medha – which means the wisdom to move forward in Khmer – performed since 2018 with the support of Cambodian Living Arts, as a conscious effort to break the barrier for women in drumming, traditionally played only by men. They aspire to change mentalities through their lively and creative spectacle.

The bambu theater is closed. They confirmed our booking and we showed up and there's just the old sign. I contacted the group to request a refund and haven't heard anything so I'll pursue it through my bank.

This is a scam! Do not book.

Would give it a 0 but no option.

I emailed the tour operator twice for the address with no reply, and after finally getting the address and making my way to the venue…. It was shut.

Why would you sell a trip/experience if you are shut? I now have to wait for a the tour operator to get back to Viator about a refund.

DISGUSTING!!

Seeing the performance of Forbidden Rhythms at Bambu Stage was one of the highlights of my trip to Siem Reap. Medha is an extremely talented and professional group of artists that shares elements of Cambodian culture and traditions - and the challenging of norms - through acting, music, and dance. I was completely engaged from start to finish. The venue is beautiful - and unique - with open-air stage and seating, as well as a common area to enjoy food or drinks before or after a show. The performance was a good length - just under an hour - and suitable for all ages. I highly recommend including Medha, Forbidden Rhythms, and Bambu Stage in your Siem Reap experience.

This was one of my very favorite activities in Cambodia. These women are SO talented, and their story is moving. The show is clever, funny, and heart-wrenching. I LOVE drumlines -- so this was right up my alley. I highly recommend this show!

Went with my husband and a friend to see Forbidden Rhythms and all three of us were so impressed! It is an impressive cultural AND modern Cambodian artistic show. The women were beautiful and sounded beautiful. It was a little short, because would have loved to see more, but worth every dime. We very much enjoyed supporting this local art.
