Your wine-certified guide will meet you at your Queenstown accommodation to kick-start your day. We'll then embark on a one-hour journey to Central Otago and its renowned sub-wine regions, known for their exceptional wineries and award-winning wines, especially the world-famous Pinot Noirs of Central Otago.

Throughout the day, you'll relish four distinct wine-tasting experiences, ranging from smaller boutique cellar doors to well-established locations. As part of the tour, you'll also get a chance to explore a barrel room and engage with your charismatic guide and cellar staff, learning fascinating information and stories about the region and its wines.

Rest assured, all your meals are included in this experience. You will enjoy a delightful "trust the chef" lunch at a locally renowned restaurant and savor a delectable cheeseboard at the final location towards the end of the day.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The first stop of the tour is in the Bannockburn sub-region of Central Otago. An hour's drive from Queenstown following the Kawarau River. In this beautiful setting you will experience an educational tour of the vines, barrel hall and of course, finish with a beautiful tasting of the wines they produce.
2. Te Kano Estate
The next stop is on the famous Felton Rd. Te Kano is a sophisticated tasting room located in a beautiful setting in an Architecturally awarded cellar door. Taste 5 of their clean, crisp and delicate wines from Blanc de Noir, Rosé and Pinot Noirs.

Now it’s time for lunch, we then head to the Bannockburn Hotel, a local favourite location not only for the tapas style menu but also their extensive wine list with over 200 wines available by the glass. Here you will enjoy a trust-the-chef tapas lunch all included in the tour.
4. Misha's Vineyard Tasting Room
We now head further into Cromwell to Mishas tasting room, this exceptional tasting experience gives you the opportunity to select 5 wines from their extensive list, they offer white wines, rosé and multiple Pinot Noirs. Their gewürztraminer is a local favourite wine and is uniquely different from others in the region with their strong Turkish Delight and Ginger flavours.
5. Kinross
We start the drive back towards Queenstown, stopping the famous Central Otago wine growing region, Gibbston. Our last location is Kinross, a local favourite and the perfect place to wrap up a day of exploring Central Otago. Here you will enjoy a relaxed wine-tasting experience and will be offered a selection of wines on a tasting flightboard to enjoy with a shared cheese platter.

We've done many wine tours but this one stands out because of our wonderful guide Alana. We upgraded from the Wine only to the Wine & Food tour. Great decision to pair the beautiful NZ wines with local food. Alana was friendly and upbeat from the start. We could tell her goal was for us to have an amazing time, and we did. She had an ipad to play Karaoke DJ, she told stories about herself and the land, we stopped at the AJ Hackett bungee bridge for a quick view of jumpers but most importantly we had a great tasting experience. If you're hesitating on the cost don't. The experience is priceless but at the end we each received a logo tote bag and 2 beautiful etched wine glasses, packed in containers ready to bring home. This was our favorite souvenir of the trip!

Altitude's wine tour was truly exceptional! We visited four outstanding vineyards in Central Otago, each offering well-balanced and delicious wines. Our guide, Alana, was incredibly knowledgeable and kept us entertained throughout the day. Learning about the wine history of the region, as well as interesting tidbits about Queenstown and New Zealand in general, added an extra layer of enjoyment to the experience.

From the exquisite Pinot Noirs to the elegant Rieslings and refreshing Sauvignon Blancs, the quality of the wines was outstanding. If you're a serious wine enthusiast, this tour is a must-do! And definitely request Alana as your guide – she's amazing!

Overall an enjoyable experience. Some wineries were better than others, but it’s all down to personal taste I guess.
Lunch was in a nice spot and a delicious inclusion. The final winery included a cheese and wine pairing which was nice, however there was no explanation from the staff about anything which was a bit weird.
We were presented with a gift of wine glasses at the end from Altitude - a nice touch!
The views were stunning, we were very fortunate to have the rain clear for us.

Great experience. Visited 4 wineries with lunch at the second one (not included, but probably a good idea) 😀
18 samples, with a god variety, though obviously limited to the wines of the area.
Alia was helpful and friendly.

Great tour! Stopped at 5 places including lunch. Lunch was great and the wineries were amazing. Highly recommend it to anyone interested in wine tours. Altitude does a really nice job with their tours.

This was a full day with 4 wineries and a great lunch! Our guide was Alana and she was great company on the day, providing detail about the local area, the history of vineyards and wine making in the area.
For anyone interest in Nee Zealand and their wines then I would wholeheartedly recommend this trip, you will not be disappointed

Myself and my family had a wonderful day out. Emma who hosted the tour was so welcoming and friendly along with all the staff at each wine tasting. Emma made everyone feel comfortable with one another and really brought the group together which made for a great day out. Ruby (Emma’s dog) was a wgeest addition to the tour :) Emma had an abundance of information about the wine tour and Queenstown itself, with many great tips for other adventures throughout my stay. I will be recommending this tour to any of my friends or family who travel to Queenstown. Definitely a highlight of my trip to New Zealand!
