Your private guide and vehicle will pickup you at your hotel and you will enjoy a private journey through the dry and cloud forest to get to Mindo.
In the tour:
- You'll visit the birds feeders to learn about their natural history.
- Ride the cable-car to marvel at the cloudy landscape.
- Hike in the forest to watch the flora and fauna or maybe get to see a waterfall.
- You can zip-line in the forest with great views and good chances to see toucans, sloths or birds.
- Taste different chocolate bars with different flavors and make your own chocolate with your hands to taste it and learn the process.

As soon as I saw the humming bird photos I knew I wanted to do this trip.
We were collected by Christian our lovely guide just before 8am and headed off to Mindo. Christian gave us lots of interesting information on the drive (which is 2.5 hours) and stopped for comfort breaks.
First we took the little cable car and then walked to the waterfall looking out for birds along the way.
Next was the chocolate making and tasting tour, then a tasty lunch.
Our finale was the visit to the humming birds and it was very special. The birds drank from our hands and I had no idea there were so many types of humming bird. We also saw lots of other colourful birds including 2 types of tucan.
I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Christian.

Christian was a very informative and friendly guide. We had a fantastic time. The scenery was beautiful, and we especially loved the birdlife, especially feeding the hummingbirds.

Our guide was Daniel who we highly recommend! Daniel was personable, professional and an excellent driver. He was very accommodating and had a wide range of knowledge. The trip itself was great. We did the cable car, a hike down to the waterfall, a chocolate tour ( with tastings!) and the big highlight for us was the hummingbirds sanctuary. We also called through ( unplanned) the Initial Museum (middle of the world) which was a bit of fun. We highly recommend this tour and this driver/guide!

It was a great, private tour! Daniel was very nice and spoke perfect English to tell me all about Ecuador and the sites. I really enjoyed my time and he made sure I was happy the whole tour! I would definitely recommend

Daniel was a great guide. He had extensive knowledge about Ecuador and local knowledge. Daniel spoke excellent English. He was interesting and engaging and we loved our day with him. We really appreciated Daniel’s recommendations for birdwatching, butterflies and the chocolate tour. He was a safe driver.

Wonderful trip to beautiful Mindo. It is a relaxing time with spectacular views of the cloud forest, bird watching and a small hike to the waterfalls in the forest. Christian from Llamingo travel is a very pleasant guide with lots of useful information about Ecuador, birds and the Mindo area.

Our guide Christian is an excellent expert who has a wide knowledge about the equadorian wildlife and geography. You can tell that he really loves his job. We decided to take the cable car which gives you the oportuntity of a great view over the the cloud forest while listening to the sound of several bird species. Afterwards we went for the zip lines, which are one of the bests I have experienced so far. The birding was amazing. We saw multiple kinds of humming birds. Christian teached us a lot about their behaviour and habitat.
I would recommend this tour to every nature lover and to everyone who enjoys the diversity of the equadorian landscapes.

Daniel was an amazing tour guide, the best, and made the tour comfortable with his thoughtful and consciousness approach. His knowledge and passion for Ecuador and its natural beauty makes him the perfect person to offer the perfect experience. This tour - if private - can be flexible, and this is the important part…because everybody is different! And Daniel made sure the itinerary made it a unique experience for me which met my own wants and needs. Mindo is the hidden beauty of Ecuador and it would be a sin not to visit it, let alone without an expert like Daniel as a guiding hand. I would not recommend trying to navigate Mindo by yourself without deep knowledge of the area, so my experience was the way to do it. 10/10.

We had an amazing time visiting the humming bird reserve and the butterfly reserve. But the highlight was seeing how chocolate was made.
