This full-day tour of the World Heritage Sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum begins with a pick-up in Naples and a transfer by bus to the ruins of Pompeii. There will be a tour assistant on the bus during this part of the excursion.
On arriving in Pompeii you’ll meet your guide and then explore the ruins for around 2 hours. Your guide will show you the traditions and daily life of ancient Pompeii inhabitants. You’ll see the large theater, the necropolis, the thermal baths, and some of the amazing houses that were owned by the richest residents. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, head to Herculaneum where you’ll have the chance to explore the ruins on your own. It’s possible to observe the daily life of the population here even more detailed than in Pompeii, as the mud and volcanic debris that covered the city preserved the structures and artifacts of Herculaneum.

What an amazing day! The team at Napoli City Vision were great. We chose the VIP small group tour and my daughter and I were picked up on time by the ever smiling and lovely tour manager Serena and driver Pepe. They already had the other couple we were doing the tour with on board.
As we were in a minivan and had Pepe driving we got through the chaotic Napoli morning traffic with ease. When we arrived at Pompeii there was ample time to see the markets and do a bit of souvenir shopping before Serena introduced us to our fantastic guide Maria.
The size of the Pompeii site and the amount of tourists means a great guide makes such a difference to what you see and learn while there. Maria had a wealth of not only knowledge but passion about Pompeii. She made sure we were always in the best spot to see interesting things and explained everything so well. At times the crowds were large but, while small in stature she was part Ninja and always got us to where she wanted to go.
At the end of the tour with Maria and the nice young couple from Chicago, who were only doing the Pompeii section of the tour, we parted ways and Serena got us to our lunch spot for an en extremely filling and yummy lunch.
As I t was just my daughter and I for the Herculaneum section Serena sorted mobile phone-like audio guides for us to explore and gave us a map with what she recommended we should see as well.
To Serena, Pepe and Maria, thank you so much. We would’ve given you 6 stars if it had let us!

Fantastic day from start to finish! Pick up was easily located and from the area of our choice. Serena our guide was welcoming and our driver Sara navigated perfectly! We ended up in a very small group which was great. On our way to Pompeii Serena gave us some details of landmarks and explained the itinerary for the day. We met with Elena at the entrance to Pompeii, throughout the tour Elena was very knowledgeable and answered all questions with ease showing us the main highlights and helping us to explore the history of Pompeii. I would highly recommend getting a tour when visiting as the area is so large it would be easy to get lost without one! After the tour we enjoyed lunch (included) at the hotel next to the entrance then met Serena and Sara to head to Herculaneum, while the site is a lot smaller than Pompeii the ruins are fantastically preserved. The frescos and mosaics are breathtaking. Before we entered Serena gave us a map and highlighted some ‘must see’ areas which was extremely helpful. Serena met us at the exit and Sara drove us back to Napoli, the bus was clean, comfortable and air conditioned.
I would not hesitate to recommend Napoli City Vision to anyone visiting Naples.

Our guide in Herculaneum, Connie, took the time to thoroughly explain the different histories of that community and Pompeii. Her love for history and the desire to teach us was evident.
Both tours were well organized and saved us a lot of time and trouble vs trying to navigate ourselves.

Directions to meet up point in my booking were wrong. We were at a spot bus did not come. No time to get to a different spot as all taxis were on strike. Bus would not come get us as they had already filled our spots. Very disappointing. Hoping for a refund.

Easy pick up right by our Cruise ship.
It was great to go to both places to be able to compare. Our guides for each tour were very knowledgeable . Guissepie stuck to a very manageable schedule and took us to a great lunch!

Very well organized. Good way to see the ruins. More time at each location would have been nice but we were quite knackered at the end (hot, minimal shade, lots of walking). Having a guide in the Herculaneum would have been better than the audio guide, as it was quite repetitive and we weren’t sure if there was more to see. Lunch was ok. Nice break from the sun. Would recommend again.
