This tour focuses on local ancient history, which is of great importance to the following history of Western Europe itself, for Greek civilization began in South Italy and the Romans capitalized their great culture and continued the process of social advancement of which we are the heirs. First visit at the ruins of ancient Pompeii preserved almost intact for centuries. Stop along the way to a local Cameos and Corals factory. Orientation tour of Naples: a drive along the seaside for a view of the whole bay from Posillipo; a stroll through the opulent monumental district; a walk along Spaccanapoli, the oldest urban settlement of Greek origins.

This excursion was amazing! We started by being picked up at port from our ship. A couple other groups were picked up at different places, but we got going in good time. We all went to Pompeii and had a FABULOUS tour. If going during summer, take LOTS of water, as it is a long tour and no shade. We then went back to Naples with one other couple and free time to get some Pizza. Know that the restaurants charge a $10 cover fee (per table) off the top. It was worth it though. We were then picked up and give an AMAZING tour via van through Naples. I'm bad with names, so don't have my driver's and guide's names, but they are in one of our pictures. They are both from Naples so knew the places to get the BEST pictures. Every stop was better than the one before. Their love of Naples was evident. We were sad when it came to an end. This was one of our favorite stops on our Mediterranean cruise!!

I don’t normally provide feedback whether it be good, bad or indifferent but this operator were so terrible I felt I needed to warn others. It just didn’t start well, picked up at 8.30am and we where bounced around collecting people for 45 minutes, then a trip to head office to collect more, in a bus that had “broken airconditioning” (it’s a theme as two out of three buses we where shuffled around in had broken aircon) so the whole process took 2 hours before we got anywhere near the tour starting. An organisated mess is what I would call it, only to find out on the way admission to the ruins is not included, another 15 euros each, we had already paid €85, misleading at best on the pricing, we filed through the entrance only to be told to line up so they can count us like school children as they had got the entry tickets wrong. Tour guide was ok but clearly too many people on the tour for her to be really effective, when it was all done, made to wait another 45 minutes after exit the ruins for a bus to turn up again in 30’c heat again no aircon and no apologies, so out of the five hours with them 2 hours productive and the rest waiting around for them to sort themselves out, we were to do the afternoon tour of Naples with them, we just asked to be delivered to our hotel as they were just taking the piss at this stage, told us not possible and they had other things to do, so they dropped us at the railway station and took off. The guide Valatina, gave up feeble apologie but we could tell no real concern in the feed back and clearly had hear all the complaints before

Can not strongly recommend highly enough STAY WAY from these guys

Good tour. Very informative. Group was too big to get personalised service. Maybe times for the tour should be more staggered as there are a lot of people visiting. Worth doing tour as you jump the queues. Make sure you wear comfortable clothing and shoes as it is normally very warm and path is very uneven.

Just OK compared to our other tours in Italy. Guide was knowledgeable, but felt rushed as she was translating in 3 different languages. We had booked an " English speaking tour," but we spent a good amount of time waiting for other translations, or for guide to take phone calls from office. Seemed unorganized.

The tour bus picked us up at our hotel right on time and got us to Pompeii in good order. The tour guide gave an interesting multi-lingual commentary on the way, even though this was supposedly an English-language tour. When we got to Pompeii we got a special, English-speaking, guide for the ruins themselves. However, we then somehow wound up with an Italian couple, who only spoke Italian, in the group and the tour was prolonged a lot because the guide kept stopping to translate into Italian for these two people out of 20. It was a very hot day and these delays, with most of us bored stiff since we knew no Italian and had, therefore, signed up for an English-language tour, were very tiring. I think someone messed up and got this Italian couple misplaced and then stuck them in with us. Most of us were not young and waiting in the horrible heat for the Italian patter to end really did wear on us. The city tour guide himself did a good job explaining the ruins and the history and all, it was just the delays for Italian translation that were not fun for us. We had signed up for the combination Pompeii/Naples tour and so we came back to Naples after Pompeii. We finally got something to eat in Naples but the rest of the tour, with the exception of the high-elevation views of the bay, was unexceptional. We had the distinct impression that something got confused at the start of the day and the tour company was trying to make the best of it, with the results as stated above. The tour guide was on the phone virtually nonstop and we changed vehicles three times. Also, we had to take all of our belongings off each vehicle, which would have been a major disaster if we had had full luggage to carry. There was just no place to store it or keep it and we had only come down from Rome the night before to do the one-day tour. Therefore, we had only small packs and could handle them, but if we had had real suitcases it would have been impossible to lug them all over Pompeii

The tour was not organized and we stood around waiting entirely too much. However, Pompeii was amazing. We just had too big a group and she had to repeat everything twice. (English and Spanish)
