Pick you up from your hotel in Cairo, Travel to Alexandria. Start the tour with the library of Alexandria; the biggest library in the world – now with 8 million books. Visit President Sadat Museum and visit the open court where you can see the statue of Alexander the Great and the statue of Ptolemy the first, which was found underwater nearby. Our guide will explain the design of the library from outside, you will have a chance for some photo stops. Note: Alexandria library is closed on Fridays ,Saturdays & in public holidays. To enter the reading area you will need to purchase a ticket.
2. Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa
Visiting the insides of the Catacombs of Kom El Shokafa which are the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of three levels cut in the rock
3. Pompey's Pillar
You will also drive by Pompay's Pillar and stop for a photo stop, (it was constructed in honor of the Emperor Diocletian at the end of the 4th century)
4. Ancient Roman Amphitheater
Visit the Roman Amphitheater of Alexandria with the display of the sunken monuments of Alexandria which were discovered under the East harbor of Alexandria.
5. Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral
The car will then take you to visit the church of St. Mark – the oldest church in Africa,

Continue your tour by passing through the oldest market area in Mansheya and see the traditional womens’ markets (zan’et etsetat) with very thin and narrow streets, gold market also exists here where everyone buys their wedding and engagement jewellery.

The car will then transport you to the most beautiful and largest mosque in the city, allowing for a photo stop at the Abbo Elabbas Mosque.Walk by the oldest funfair in Egypt

Opposite is the corniche and the old harbour where you can see the old fishing boats, men fishing and traditional fishermen making nets. The photos taken here are amazing. Continue to see the outside of Quaitbay castle which was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the seven wonders of ancient world . A most spectacular castle which is a great photo stop.
10. Montazah Gardens
The car will then take you to visit Montazah Palace Gardens, the royal gardens of King Farouk, the last king in Egypt's history. You'll have the opportunity to pause for a photo by King Farouk's royal palace, as well as explore the royal beaches of the queens.

The views were amazing and Walid my assigned tour guide was an angel personified. He showed me round town, even made me try some delicacies from his pocket and was super kind! Because of him, I know that one trip would not be enough to explore the beauty of Alexandria!

The trip started with a 3-hour drive from Cairo with our very experienced driver Khaled. Met up with our guide Mohammed in Alexandria who took us to the various landmarks and historic sites. Mohammed was very knowledgeable about the history of Alexandria, both from the many common beliefs and academic point of view. Recommended!

We spent a full day with Waleed, who took us around the main sights of Alexandria.

It was a hugely insightful and productive day, with no time wasted at all.

Waleed is highly knowledgeable about all the topics he covers and an enthusiastic guide.

I’ve used dozens of guides over the years and he’s in the top five.

Viaje sola hacia en Egipto y decidí visitar Alejandría por un día. Asi que tome un WALKING tour y me asignaron de guía a Whaleed, (muy puntual y respetuoso) lo cual fue un éxito, caminamos por 4 a 5 horas por los lugares emblemáticos y antiguos, me explico también la historia actual, me encantó que realmente te da las horas asignadas, te guía, le puedes preguntar y tiene una respuesta. Te hace transportar en el tiempo. Realmente el tour con el fue de mucho conocimiento y muy agradable. Si contratas el tour, solicítalo a el, porque entiende la cultura latina. El tour lo hice en inglés ya que carecen de guías en español pero valió la pena. En cuanto a la compañía Ramasside Tours te sugiero que contactes directamente con ellos, ya que a veces solicitas un tour y tal vez, no están dentro de sus servicios y así no hay cambios de precios.

Everything from pick-up to tour to finishing the day off with tea at Montaza Palace was great. The logistics were all clear and well-run, and Waleed was a brilliant guide - very knowledgable (without droning on), amusing and very much ensured that everyone made the most of this wonderful city in the time we had. It's a long but memorable day and I'd recommend to anyone looking to get a sense of Alexandria - and wish now I could have stayed longer.

Alexandria is a true gem! It would be better to have more time to enjoy it.
I had the privilege of being guided by Ms. Kholoud, very experienced and very kind. Knows everything about Egypt. Ahmed was the driver of the vehicle, a perfect gentleman. This set made the day trip absolutely perfect!!
