The cruise itself was fine, however, when I booked the cruise I was told that it included transportation from nearby hotels, however the day before the cruise I was told that I had to find my own transportation, which cost an additional $50. The crew were great with the exception of the bar tender, she was very aloof, but she did serve me fairly promptly. Most of the folks on the cruise were from the Sandals resort and they were the most unfriendly people. Only one other couple were dancing besides us, the crew attempted to get people on their feet, but it just wasn't going to happen. I will not attend another event from a Sandals resort.

It was a nice little trip…once we arrived. We stayed in Negril and this is a very long drive from there. The communication from island routes is poor. We did not actually know if the cruise was going to actually happen until the night before around 6pm. Which is very frustrating when you only have 7 days of vacation. Other than that it is a very nice boat with a great staff. The Pelican bar is cool. However if you are staying in Negril I would not recommend making the trek.

The trip never happened. The operator cancelled the trip. When you sign up online and the trip doesn’t take place, that’s bad business.

Tried to confirm my trip 3 days before I left the states. No response until the day before the trip. Did not receive departure information so we missed the shuttle and the entire trip. Tried to get information so we could arrange transportation but couldn’t get anyone to help us on the departure location. Poor customer service. Would not recommend!!!!

Great experience and fun day!
Need better food items than mini sandwiches but overall great time. Great for families friends and couples. Great staff on board.

Misleading, rude and shady business practices. I recommend you stay far away from Island Routes. We booked through Expedia 2/4 9:30-2:30 to visit Floyds Pelican Bar. When we arrived at Sandals Negril on 2/01, we stopped by the booth at the hotel and were told we would be notified on our pickup time the day prior. The morning of, we had still not been notified. I stopped by their booth at 7:30am after sending them an email, no one was at the booth. Around 7:45am, I approached the front desk and they stated they had been calling me because my pickup was at 7am. They rudely asked why I wasn't picking up my hotel phone-well because I had been at the gym. They said I had 10 minutes. No communication, no notice at my door, nothing stating when we were to be picked up. Its been 4 days and they have never responded to my emails. I called Expedia today, they contacted them and they are unwilling to refund me my $584. Its very saddening because we really wanted to go on this trip-the weather was perfect, but this is the way Island Routes likes to do business I guess.

They sent and email a day before and changed the trip time and place. Was unable to contact them days before the cruise. Tried email then was on the phone for 2 hours and could not get a hold of them. They did not give us a refund.

Disclaimer: I did not get to go on my catamaran cruise to the Pelican Bar. I wish I could have though! I booked it, paid for it online and emailed them more than once, called once, and didn't get a reply. I finally got in touch with someone the day before my scheduled cruise and while the woman was very pleasant and explained that it won't run unless it gets 4 people to do it (we were only 2 - we also had the option of paying for the two other seats we wouldn't use), making the chances very low we'd be able to go, it was too late. We had spent the day in the area near the island and chose not to go because we thought we'd be going the next day. So we scrambled and found a different more reliable cruise. I just wish they'd given us this disclaimer up front that it wouldn't go if it wasn't full and that they had been more timely with notifying us - even with 24 hours would've been helpful. I was further frustrated when I gave this feedback to them via email and again, I received no response. They said they would fully refund me though (As they should, since I didn't get to go) so hopefully that happens.

We never got to visit or do the tour. I booked a group of 6 of us a month before. I got an email the night before saying they canceled the tour cause they did not have enough people book.

We were scheduled to go out on Pelican Bar Catamaran Cruise on Friday 31 August. I contacted the tour operator at 4:27pm Thursday to confirm my hotel pick-up for the next morning. I was told that due to lack of subscription they cruise would not go, as they needed a minimum of 25 people and only had 13 at that time. I spent a very long time expressing my displeasure and was politely told the credit to my card would be done expeditiously.. On Saturday 1st Sep I called back to check on the processing of my credit and was told that no credit was due. They said they came to my hotel to pick me up and they say I told them I was too tired to go.I strongly recommend to anyone not to book a tour using Viator as they do not answer the phone. You are left on interminable hold (incurring roaming charges) with no response.I am left to negotiate with the local tour company while they self-investigate my claim. Their story is that they have no record of my conversation with their staff telling me their trip was canceled. I have zero confidence this is going to work out in my favor.
