The drive on its own was beautiful and exiting for those who are not used to drive on the left side of the road. Watch the potholes. Nevertheless, we found the tour is over priced. We were the only couple on that day taking the tour. From the start we were not feeling welcomed by the crew. Already at the first stop “Coconut joint”, the souvenirs were way overpriced so were the drinks. Although our lunch was included, we had to pay for bottled water ourselves. Especially in a country like this, we didn’t want to drink sirup or tab water with ice, not knowing what the ice is made of. Tab water and Sirup were free. The instructions while driving were given through Walkitalki, which was good. But we barely received any info on the places we visited nor of Jamaica in general. All in all, we felt more like a burden to the crew than anything else. There was barely any interaction. May be they just had a bad day. I would suggest to consider renting a car or probably a taxi to do the same route at that price.

We had the best time with Tracy and Merlon driving Mini Cooper’s. Merlon was the lead driver and Tracy was on the walkie-talkie giving us the confidence we needed to drive on the left side of the road. Was very nervous about driving on the left side of the road but they guided us perfectly all day! Highly recommend this tour was the perfect way to see parts of Jamaica!

We had a private tour and this was the highlight of our excursions in Jamaica! Loved driving the countryside, seeing the towns and locals, sight seeing, experiencing driving on left side Of road and right side of car(little scary but fun!!)

We had the best time with Tracy and Merlon. Merlon was the lead driver and Tracy was on the walkie-talkies guiding us along. Helping us avoid the pot holes.

Don’t let drive on the opposite side of the ride intimidate you, this tour is the best we’ve ever been on.

We had an absolute blast on this tour. Marlon and Tracy were amazing and made the tour so memorable. Our group was not large so they were able to tailor the trip to our needs which included stopping to buy patties at a local bakery and picking up some handmade art on the side of the road. Lunch at the beach in Negril along with jumping from the rocks at Rick's Cafe were truly the highlights. If you have an extra day on your stay I would highly recommend checking this out. You will not be disappointed.

We had a blast on this tour. We highly recommend. Tracy, our tour guide was awesome and Marlin our lead driver was amazing. This tour to Nigrel is worth every penny. Driving on the wrong side of the road following the driver was exciting and new. Couldn’t have done it without the lead driver, Marlin. We got to see the Jamaican culture first hand. Jump off the cliff at Ricks, walk the 7 mile beach, visit a lighthouse, and eat at Margaritaville. Had such a great time sight seeing, we signed up for another Mini Cooper tour the same week. Thank you Tracy and Marlin for an awesome time!

What a fun day! We stayed at excellence oyster bay (gorgeous resort) but this tour (or any island routes tour) was not available to book through the resorts tour desk. We were told that Island Routes is a Sandals resorts excursion. However,I had read about this tour prior to coming to Jamaica & this was one adventure the hubby & I both really wanted to do. So I called island routes myself & they were excellent at getting us booked for the tour. They picked us up at our hotel at 730am & after picking up one more couple we headed to Island Routes head office in Montego Bay. Once there they photocopied our licenses & gave us a run down on driving in Jamaica. At about 9ish we headed out. There was only us & one other couple booked this particular day so it felt very private & like a personal tour. Each couple had their own car & we followed the lead car (the guys from Island Routes). Each car was given a walkie talkie so we could communicate with the lead car. We stopped at some really cool places. A coconut vendor was the 1st stop, followed by a lighthouse, Rick's cafe, 7 mile beach & margaritaville (not necessarily in that order) on the way back we stopped at a jerk shack.
It was pretty cool, on the way back we happened to drive though a HUGE street party where a school & their families were out celebrating a big win at their school (I feel bad I can't remember what for)
It was a little harrowing driving though it, with so many people wandering around & narrow roads. BUT, I didn't hit anything.
We got back to the resort around 430-5pm, so it is a long day, but it didn't feel long.
Yes this excursion is a little on the pricer side, but it is 100% worth it. Also, driving on the left isn't as hard as I was expecting it to be, and the cars are really nice to drive!
Thank you so much to everyone for giving us such a phenomenal day!

Driving around the island in “Irie” was a memorable experience. Our guides were professional, knowledgeable and fun. This is the best way to know the island. You will have plenty of time to take pics, experience the area and enjoy the beautiful views.

If possible try to book the mini cooper convertible.

First off, I want to recognize Marlon our fantastic tour leader and guide. He is a lot of fun "yah mon" and makes the tour and drive enjoyable while discussing points of interest along the route. Driving on the left can be intimidating at first but you get used to it quickly, just watch out for the "CJ'S". Marlon is in constant contact during the tour which lasts a full day. Our day was an amazing bright and sunny Jamaican day and the top was down the whole time. There are several stopping points along the way, a coconut shack, Margaritaville for lunch and a swim, a light house, and then you end up at Rick's Cafe for a jump into the water and a swim, On the way back you will stop at a Jerk shack for a demonstration and sample. Also want to mention Steve our driver to and from the resort. He gave us an overview of the culture. Bring cash for tips and purchases. This tour was well worth the money and we would do it again without question.
