1. City Hall
After meeting at City Hall this walking tour will be an introduction to what else to see and do while in Belfast some of which is free when opened. You'll hear of great places to wine and dine in the cities best gastro bars and resturants and hearing a description of where Belfast came from and get a background of how the period known as the troubles are a part of the birth of Belfast. You'll hear of its past history, its present innovation and future redevelopment . And then we set off to discover some of the places and people you've just learnt about in the introduction to the tour. Passing the Titanic Memoral Garden as we strowl into the Linen quarter to reach our next stop.
2. Titanic Memorial Garden
It's hear you'll hear of the development of the Memorial garden to the Ill-fated HMS Titanic.
3. St. Malachy's Church
And having discovered how the linen industry developed the town of Belfast. We'll discover some of the Belfast buildings (like this remarkable church) along the way that make the city such a beautiful and unique space. As we enter the Markets area.
4. St. George's Market
Pass St. Georges market hearing of its history. Passby the courts area hearing how the markets area has developed
5. Spirit of Belfast
Well passby this iconic sculpture as we strowl on towards the Entries
6. The Belfast Entries
We'll enter the little narrow streets, where Belfast was Born. And hear of the rebellious locals like The United Irishmen, and view lots of Street Art that tells the history from it's birth. And where now locals and visitors mingle in their many Gastro Bars, and Resturants.
7. Victoria Square Shopping Centre
Leaving the River Lagan behind us now. We reach Vicotria Sq, to hear of its past present and future. And pass by towards the Spirit of Belfast.

As we reach the Beacon of Hope Sculpture. Hear of its meaning and discover whats further down the lagan river like the Big Fish and Gateway to the Titanic Quarter.
9. Waterfront Hall
Now known as the International Conference Centre Belfast (ICC Belfast) we see and hear of the development of this area.
10. Big Fish
As we pass the Big Fish, you'll hear of it's history written on its scales.. And strowl on towards the Cathedral Quarter. Viewing the Titanic quarter. Just a 15 minute walk on the other side of the river.
11. Cathedral Quarter
And it's in the Cathedral Quarter we'll view more of the International and Local Street Art. Hear of how Belfast and it's people are coming together in Peace and Reconciliation
12. Belfast Cathedral - The Cathedral Church of St. Anne
As we walk around the Cathedral you'll hear of it's construction and hear of development now happening in this area.
13. MAC
And it's here we will finish your introduction to Belfast in St. Annes Square. A Square discribed as the Belfast answer to a European Plaza with its many Restaurants and Apartments above.

Went to Ireland for a study abroad trip with my school, and all of us can say we didn’t know much about Belfast until we went on the Marty Walking Tour. We all got to learn so much from him and all of us had such a great time. He was passionate, educational and fun. Everyone had nothing but good things to say by the end of it and it was definitely a highlight of our trip.

This was my first time in Ireland and having Marti as a tour guide made it an all and all great experience! Going to Belfast, I had no knowledge about anything there, but after having a tour with Marti, that completely changed. He was very informative in the tour and had explained everything well, even answering questions that we had! He was very friendly and engaging throughout the tour and even after. He also suggested places that we go to during our stay in Ireland such as great pubs and great places to have a bite! Definitely suggest going with the Marti way if you're ever in Belfast. A pleasure to be around and a great tour guide!

This tour was more than we were expecting, it was well conducted well orated and more in depth than expected
So nice to have a native orator historian and good humour with real depth to the stories
Highly recommend you take this tour especially before other more commercially oriented tours they want your money Marty wants your ears to help you learn about the beautiful Ireland and it’s customs history snd people’s
Will most definitely tell anyone coming to Belfast this is a must do tour

Going to Belfast i didn’t know much about anything but then after my tour with Marti i learned more then i thought i was. He explained everything so clearly and answered any questions anyone had! Marti told us some of the best pubs to go to while visiting Belfast and some good places to go and eat! The Marti way is the best way to go when it comes to touring all of Belfast. Overall, a great guy and also the best tour guide!

Travelling to different countries can be really fun, but it can also often feel very “touristy”. Marti and his trademark “mARTi way” allowed us to experience Belfast for what it truly is. There’s a lot of rich history, but also a lot of conflict, and Marti didn’t shy away from teaching us about the true capital of Northern Ireland.

The murals we visited were absolutely magnificent, and each had its own story which Marti knew like the back of his hand. He’d always remind us about the importance of hope and peace; that no matter the conflict, humanity needs to work together in order to thrive. His knowledge of Belfast, and honestly, his amazingly positive outlook, helped us feel secure throughout the trip.

Our group was fairly surprised by his initial approach (he just appeared out of nowhere and we didn’t know who he was), but it didn’t take long for us to warm up to Marti. Again, he is extremely knowledgeable, and if you want a true Northern Ireland history experience, “the mARTi way” might be the only way to travel through Belfast!

Thank you for this wonderful Tour. Marti is fun to be with and has so much knowledge for what he is doing - that noone comes even close. His friendly attitude is amazing and all the places he showed were amazing holding secrets not known of many. The food places he recommended were with best food in town and sure next time we come in Belfast would like to do one of his tours again.

Marti was very well informed and gave us a great understanding of the background of Belfast. He asked what we were interested in and gave us an interesting and ‘eclectic’ tour the city. He does other tours that are more specially tailored to political or musical interests too. - we’d happily take them up. Would really recommend this tour 👍

Great insider knowledge with fun facts thrown in. If you’re looking for something a bit different and don’t enjoy large group tours, book Marti. You’ll get loads of history, his love of Belfast shines through and he will tell you about its bright future.

We had a brilliant morning with Marti travelling 'the Marti Way' and it was a great introduction to Belfast on our first day there. As a previous reviewer recommended, it's worth doing the tour early on in your trip if you're only visiting for a short time. The tour covered both old and recent history, architecture, street art and a number of hidden sights I would've failed to notice otherwise! I also got some great photos thanks to Marti's tips! The best thing was Marti's enthusiasm for the city, we left with an overwhelmingly positive view of Belfast and we were excited to continue exploring and try out some of the recommendations he gave.
