Marty was a fun guy to be with. We had a long walk tour with a detailed explanation of all the places we’ve pass along the way. Very informative. Not recommended for older adults or children because of the long walk except if they have a stroller.

We started our short break in Belfast with this tour, to give ourselves a background to the city. We certainly got that, as Marti gave us lots of facts about the history of the city people and industries. The walk started on the banks of the Lagan with the basics and then we walked away from the city into East Belfast to see the effects of the Troubles on the area, and the changes that have been made recently. It was fascinating to see the street murals and hear about the events that inspired them, including all the new ones about building communities and inspiring local people. We even saw a Loyalist marching band! The tour is quite long, which we enjoyed as we are keen walkers, but be prepared to be on your feet for several hours. The coffee break at CS Lewis Square was welcome.
When we arrived back to the city centre, Marti was kind enough to advise us of key sights not to be missed in our few days in Belfast, although we had so much information we will probably forget half of it. We have seldom had such a helpful guide and if everyone in Belfast is so friendly, we will certainly enjoy the rest of our stay.

When my friend suggested we go to Belfast, I didn't know anything about Belfast except the Game of Thrones was filmed there. But I was excited and eager for a new adventure. One of the first things we did once we arrived was take this tour from the big fish to East Belfast. The tour guide provided us with its rich history by showing us street art and explaining the transitions of the communities and the future of Belfast. I was amazed at his knowledge, his candor and how easy it was to talk to him. I recommend this tour but bring your sneakers and some water because it is a 7km walk and he walks pretty fast.
